I'd stay away from Government Motors. I had enough problems with Chevy.

Buy Ford, I love my new Ford truck. :thumbsup :D

Go look at and drive a Dodge. You really don't want a new Ford. At least not a diesel.

I'm a few days away from buying a Dodge diesel. I have zero brand loyalty to the big three and have test drove all the brands in the past few weeks. I'm shopping for the 3500 dually.

In my opinion the Dodge is the best value and comfort. Chevy has very few options in their packages. Ford is way overpriced and I'm not a fan of their latest options.

I can pretty much order the Dodge anyway I want and was impressed with the comfort and the price point. If you order the Cummins with the Aisin Trans you get 385 horse 850 torque.

Also, I think the manufacture warranty with the Dodge is the best of the three, 5 year 100,000 power train versus the other two with 5 year 60,000 miles.

Good luck

X2 on the Tundra. Love mine. Plenty of power. The 2014 has a great updated interior. Best of all, #1 in reliability and resale value.

Test drive the big 3 duesels, the 1/2 ton Dodge diesel., and the Tundra.
Cant go wrong with any of them, especially if you keep it under 5 years.
I wont buy foreign but the Tundra is consistently rated a top full size truck. Toyota also charges a fortune on parts, another reason I wouldnt keep it past 5 yrs. Co worker just paid $700 on an alternator on an 06 tundra, yikes!

Buying a Dodge you have to remember what you are really doing is buying a support system for a Cummins.
The support system has improved.
I think right now I'd be looking Dodge, Ford, GM in that order. Fords are way expensive.

Another vote for Tundra. I would love to get a newer one since my '02 has served me well but I would live to get a crew cab.

When I am done with my '12 sierra 1500, I will be looking at the Dodge Cummins 2500/3500 crew cab not mega cab...

My uncle owned a '12 ford, '13 ford, '13 dodge and now 2014 Dodge.
He absolutely loves the '14 Dodge for the comfort, power and drivability.
They were all 2500 Diesels.

I've got a 2011 F-250 Diesel too, and love it. Mine only has 40k miles though. My next truck will be either a Raptor or the new Superdutys in 2016. I'm gonna wait and see what they come out with. By then I'll be ready for a new one.

I have owned a 12 Dodge and currently own a 12 Ford. I have not been in the new Chevy.

Engine wise I give a slight edge to the Cummins. But I love the Duramax and the 6.7 Ford. I have seen them all in stock form up to 1000+ HP

Overall quality and comfort and technology I say Ford hands down. The 2015 Ford is getting a new turbo setup I hear, that really was the only issue with the 6.7.

If you are looking for some ideas on a stock height Ford let me know I can post pics.

2013-2014 Ford F-150 Supercrew, FX4, Ecoboost.
^^^^
My son has one of these and loves it! How do you know when you're getting "old" - your kid has a nicer truck than you!

I have an '05F250 TD FX4 that has about 97k miles on it and is still ingreat condition and perfect for towing my 5'er, boat, cargo trailers, etc. I did have to deal wiht the EGR issue (Ford helped) about 50k miles.

Just bought a 2014 chevy Silverado 1500. 4 wheel drive, Z71. And I have mixed feelings. I would say it's the best driving vehicle I've ever driven as far as steering input and ride. I'm getting a solid 20 mpg (5.3 gas) in the mountains and four wheel drive (we've had snow on the ground for the last three months) and on two longer trips on cruise on flatter ground it's getting right at 23. Better than advertised. With the traction control it's awesome on snow and ice. BUT, the seat is the most uncomfortable piece of shit I've ever sat in. I would not buy another one if they didn't change the seat. I've been on line looking at aftermarket seats and it's just irritating to spend that much money and then change something fairly significant and expensive. I sat in and drove two different ones and thought the seats were pretty comfortable and then told them what I was looking for and they found it, so I really didn't get any seat time in this one before I bought it. I took a day and drove all four manufacturers and would have ranked them Dodge, Toyota, Chevy, Ford until they came out with the new Chevy. The fuel mileage on the Dodge Hemi and the Toyota suck. That's my 2 cents.

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4x4 Duramax right now that replaced the same in a 2004. Both great trucks and can't complain about either except that the 2004 with an Edge Juice controller was fast as fock !! Used to tow my 29' Shockwave to Powell and be passing people going up big grades with regularity, almost nothing better than that.

If no future towing needs, Ford Raptor might be a good call.

Cummins 6.7. Is there anything else? The new DEF version gets better mileage than its predecessor the non def version.:thumbup: 2013 Best power of them all, best tow rating of them all, the new interiors are awesome. I have a 6.7 cummins and I love it. Quiet, barely know its running even pulling 10k up a grade.

All three have nice trucks. You have the latest offering from Ford, and aren't happy w the death wobble. The new GMC's are awesome. There are some deals on the 2014's. I love my '11.

I'm a big fan of the Duramax/Allison combo. I don't think you can go wrong with it. My brother-in-law has about 100k trouble free miles with his.

Dodge has had the Aisin transmission since 2007. It's not new to them.

Chevrolet factory powertrain warranty - 5 year / 100k miles
Dodge factory powertrain warranty - 5 year / 100k miles
Ford factory powertrain warranty - 5 year / 60k miles

Chevy or Dodge I don't think you can go wrong.

You really can't go wrong with any of the big three. For a 12
Ford to have death wobble is pretty strange. You have something wrong for sure but it can be hard to find. I blew the stablizer shock in my dodge and almost got ran over by a dump truck on I-15.

Same answers every time a Truck thread is posted. Lot's of voters for the big three. This time the Tundra got quite a few votes. I question the quality of the Fords. Good luck with which ever you buy.

We think the seats have been a big complaint. They're supposed to be better for 2014 / 2015 but we found them uncomfortable too.
We're led to believe they will be changing them for 2015.

I talk to late model F450 owners every chance I get.
Gas stations, at the dunes in the camping area,, parking lots.
The death wobble is a big complaint and pretty common we hear.

I just sold my 08 Gmc Duramax and bought a 14 Ford 6.7 I just finished installing the Carli 2.5 commuter leveling kit,, new ft coils rear add a leaf packs and a Adjustable track bar. This thing glides down the hwy now. Super nice. Ive had a few of both Gmc and Ford and this one is by far the best. The solid axel front end and the larger cab make it a no brainer for me.

Looking to buy a nice new truck to replace my lifted 2011 F-250 4X diesel (6.7) this year. My write offs are done with the truck so it is on to the next one.

I love the truck except for the death wobble that has occurred three times on me :skull I thought I had it fixed but it happened again after that. What bothers me is that a friend told me it happened to theirs also and it is not lifted. Not good.....

Other than that I have loved the truck. It has about 100K miles on it now.

So......I like the diesel but could go back to gas and need/want to keep in the 250 or 350 size truck. I tow quite a bit and run the 10 back-forth between AZ-S CA quit a bit. Occasionally I need that 4X around a launch ramp and at the AZ house. Interior comfort is important to me also as well as all the electronic dash options. I don't want another lifted truck and will keep that aspect factory stock.

Chevy, Ford or something else?????

What would you do and why?

If you're gonna tow, stay with a diesel.

If you want a truck that rides nice, go with Chebby.

If you want a truck with a great powertrain, but everything else will fall apart on, go with dodge.

If you want a truck, that you will use like a truck,go with Ford.

If your want a truck you can keep forever, I'd take a hard look at Toyota.

The best truck is the one you like best. Ill never sell my 7.3.

Not very scientific and they are asking a Ford engineer who is responsible for making the F-150 the best offering telling you that his truck won. It looked like Chevy and Toyota both lagged behind, but I saw real difference between Ford and Dodge.
