I made a reservation when they came out. Looks like my number is up.

I’m a bit under whelmed with the truck as produced. I think I’m going to pass.

… A friend of mine… Known as the judge… Because he’s a retired superior court judge… He’s thinking about buying a cyber truck… He did a big shift from gasoline powered cars of his 27 car collection to a Tesla four-door sedan… And now he’s talking about a cyber truck but he says it needs much bigger tires… Personally, I think the judge has lost his marbles🤷🏽‍♀️

I wonder what the insurance in SoCal would be on one of those things?

And to register it at 100k+ selling price?

Seems like the ROI would take a few decades at a minimum.

When they give you a big suggestion, look at all the reviews and unless you’re gonna use it for advertising go onto a group called Hummer chat and look at all the accolades and and people that have switched off the cyber truck to a hummer
I’ve had mine for three weeks. It’s flawless. It’s like very very very well built. It seems in the door you almost think it was built by BMW not GMC.
A number of people commented on that forum that the cyber truck feels like a $45,000 vehicle, not buying opinion but others.
If you get serious, look at Santa Monica
GMC they have about 20 of them SUVs and pick up trucks that were pre-orders so your discount can be as much as $8300 off of Windows sticker on a 2025 if you grab them fast.
Now they came out with $1000 Costco discount

Go look at it I think you’ll be surprised and it’s very comfortable

I’ve seen a couple of the Hummers on the road in So. Cal. recently. They are massive in size.

I also got my email from Tesla today... In my opinion, the Cybertruck is a disappointment with the range and price. Nothing like that said it would be.
Bought a Ford instead.

On the SUV, which is what I have the towing capacity is 10,000 pounds. It’s actually only about 3 inches wider than my bronco but about 10 inches longer. It’s the tire size it makes it look massive factory 22 inch wheels.

Probably decent. They also put a massive battery in that truck so you can have sorta decent towing range, at least for an EV
20240930_091810.jpg

This is the box the Hummer battery pack comes in. I was at a dealer this week, and spoke with the tech doing the swap. Apparently, on the drive from Albuquerque to Flagstaff, the poor customer needed to charge. As best as GM gurus can figure, a faulty charger caused an internal short. They were warranting the battery, hell, the customer just bought it in NM. They were going to disecct the battery at the GM lab and figure out what happened.

Tech said for a 9,000lb pig, they are rockets though! That was the first time I'd looked at one up close and inside. Very nice!

They go 0-60 in 3.5
Seconds, quite quick for 9,000 pounds. An actual eye doesn’t feel that heavy feels like maybe 60000 pounds that of a three-quarter ton truck but a shorter wheelbase.

probably one of the better points is the four wheel steering when it comes to driving around. It’s pretty much an effortless vehicle.

I passed and bought an f250 HO Tremor. After fives years with my model 3, I don’t think I would ever want an electric truck. The car has been great for commuting but I don’t want to feel restricted with range/charging in a truck. Resale has been a disappointment for sure.

Rivian looked like a winner from an investment standpoint some time ago for me. I bought a couple of thousand shares (over a period of time) with an average buy in around $12. It’s been a disappointment lately.

We’ll be moving to the Havasu house full time next year. I’m starting to look at solar systems utilizing an electric vehicle as part of the whole house battery set up. Ideally it’s an electric truck that can also serve as a local tow vehicle however, my boat and trailer are probably close to 13,000 lbs wet.

New e-Jeep recall. LOL Don't charge it and don't park near the house. Go Stellantis!

Chrysler has issued a new recall for more than 154,000 model year 2020-2024 Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and model year 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid electric vehicles due to a risk of fire while parked or driven.

Owners should park their vehicles outside and away from structures and other vehicles until their vehicle has been remedied. In addition, owners should not charge unrepaired vehicles, because the risk of fire is higher in a charged battery and the risk of fire is reduced when the battery is depleted.

You're telling me we both reserved Cybertrucks, now own Tremor's, KTM Adv bikes and Tesla Model 3's? You sound like a pretty smart guy... lol 👍

I have a prediction with the Cybertruck.. The prices are gonna drop drastically in the next year or two.. They are just way too expensive for what you get.

Guarantee, in Elon’s infinite spectrum riddled mind, he was sitting around BS’n with another millionaire or billionaire. Maybe even Trump. They were shootin the shit and the other guy says, “you really knocked it out of the park with Tesla. The original sedan was sexy, the rest look like bloated dog shit but it’s still the best selling electric vehicle on the planet!” They laugh a little and Elon says, “I bet you a million dollars, I could design and build the stupidest, ugliest, piece of shit on the road and the rabid eco nazi dipshit group as well as the yuppi keepin up with the jones’ group will wait in line to buy it in droves!!!

The two laugh again…”you’re on!” The other says. They reach across the table and shake.

The rest is history.

That’s the ONLY explaination I can wrap my head around to explain that monstrosity.

😁👍

I will
Say, I’d consider the hummer if I was to ever consider an electric vehicle. Good looking whip.

I know there are LOT of haters but I actually like the Cyber truck. Am I getting one ? No but I feel like any big truck or SUV with leather and AWD is well north of $60K these days.

I don't know what they will actually sell for ? We have a BIG solar setup on the roof so I enjoy EV's. I have a model 3 as my commuter ( 18-20K miles per year ) and mama has an equinox EV as her ( 12K per year ) daily. We have a 2010 F150 platinum 4x4 to take from OC to Havasu.

All cars are crazy our Model 3 was $30K as a 3 year old CPO from Tesla. The used Truck was $18K back in 2020

Paying that much for any new car seems wild to me.

Here are a few options as to wraps and making your Cyber Truck stand out.

Just be careful when hooking up your trailer. It looks like the bumpers are not very impactful rated…..

I bailed on my $100 deposit that I placed 4 years ago or so. My number came up last month and my thoughts were:

1. It doesn’t live up to the originally advertised specs.
2. There is no way to flip it for a profit. I’ve already seen a used Foundation model selling for less than new.

They don't seem to survive crashes real well either. Some kid was just killed in one when it crashed into a telephone pole or something.

I have driven my wife's the past couple of days. I prefer driving a pickup truck over a car. Ride height, tire size, clearance etc. Cybertruck fits that bill fine. She likes the truck. I kept her old model S and use it as a daily. Figure any luxury car, Full Size SUV, etc would wash out with CT. They look better tinted and wrapped. I prefer my Raptor.

Do you ever drive it on trips anywhere? I’m curious as to the range when they’re fully charged.

We drove it up to NorCal towing a 20 ft RIB boat. Range was crushed on the tow. It towed well obviously but needed to stop twice as much. I think the range on hers is 225 rated.

There's a shit load of them at the Tesla place that took over where CNC Motors was in Upland off the 210 freeway - in fact, there's a shit load of Teslas just sitting on the lot under a layer of dust.

And at the overflow lot on 15th/Campus.

I walked by one the other day, and I was shocked at how HUGE they are! 😱

Big difference between just watching one drive by, and standing right next to one. They are BIG.

But with that being said ...

I passed on the CT, as well. I am still waiting for the $49,000 mid level version. lol I bought a Chevy Colorado ZR2 instead.

On a side note.

I helped my Dad with his Model Y purchase a couple weeks ago. Kind of a bizarre experience. My Dad couldn't figure out the app to finish the purchase, so I downloaded the app and did everything over the phone with him, on my Samsung cell phone. It turns out, that if you have the fonts set to large on the Apple cell phone, that it doesn't allow you to continue through the additional steps.

My Dad, throughout the purchase kept telling me all they do is lie. Somewhat of a misunderstanding, I think on my Dad's part but I get it when a person from the "Silent Generation" is trying to buy a car like he's ordering a gadget from amazon. lol He didn't like how the website automatically set the $7,500 EV tax credit and the gas savings into the price. However, it was all worth it to him, since he hates the 15 Freeway going up the Cajon Pass and with FSD he is loving the car.
