Finally ditched my stock wheels for some Mickey Thompsons. Super happy with backspacing and offset.

And... fucking around with the boat... lol

It’s not a huge lake. But the largest closest to us for a day trip. Good enough to let er rip a bit. Float around and swim. Had a couple beers. Chill in the sun. Felt good to let the boat soak in fresh water after all the ocean running lately.

Lake was reading 35-45 feet deep everywhere we went. The narrow photos are of the entrance to a large open bay called las tablas. Kindve the hang out party area of the lake. There’s also the narrows at the far end of the lake. We only went a little bit back there though. The idle is forever, not great on the blower motors.

May have been the last run for us before we take it back to havasu. For winter. We’ll see. Getting these little punks to wash and wax it today and polish motors. Gotta pay to play!!

By the way, remember that top gun you were thinking about buying in Newport and I was like, “I wouldn’t do it”. Hung out with the new owner couple years ago at dessert storm. Yeah, he dumped a SHIT TON of money into it. New interior, new power (actually built by Boyd’s in Oklahoma who last did my motors), drives gone though. Etc etc. runs good now though!

Let the waxing begin. Transom and drives done. Tried out this wax I found in my cabinet. Goes on easy. Buffs out easy. Leaves slick mirror finish.

15 year old and his friend gettin’ after it!

Think I found the secret. Just drag them along when I want to go boating and make them Detail it to pay for the ride after. 😂😂

So you're not going to stick around for the upcoming season of those lovely fall offshore winds that sets us on fire, but lays the seas flat as glass ?
Well, I mean except in Avalon
I used to love running offshore on those days, despite hating to look up and see the mountains burning. 😖

I always say this is our summer. Aug through November and like you said, water lays down. Favorite time of year to run offshore.

Just don’t think we’ll have time. Heading to upper river I. A couple weeks not taking the boat. Then have a few weeks until we go to Greece for a couple weeks so, don’t think I’m gonna have much time. Going to take it back to havasu early November. Get some stuff done this winter.

But it’s all shined up purdy 😂😂

Oh yeah I remember that boat for sure.... glad it ended up improved and always appreciated that advice. I hate when stuff breaks on toys. I can relate to you wanting to flush the new big boy out on a lake .... but Tankster, we both know the ocean in winter is where we want to be. You do you though my brother and I'll keep an ear out for that thing soaring by my beach in Rosarito headed to Ensenada one day lol. Dont you worry I won't hold my breath. 🤣 Enjoy her wherever she takes you!

Boys trip with my 3 boys to Newport Dunes. I know there’s a lot of hate for the place, but it works well for the kids and their ages at 6, 4, and 2. A little beach, pool and bike riding while mom gets a break. Nothin but 30 years of love from me there... they even bought brand new outdrive for my Magic when stolen from drydock. $20K and didn't blink covering all costs. Great spot!

I wouldn't even know how drive my bote on water that smooth😂 At minimum it needs some ripples or else it slows down.🫤
Do you remember where the launch ramp is @Ziggy ? It has been so long since you have been in town. ;) I get sad thinking how little I am here. But then again Ihaven’t been fortunate to be hereover many years. Look forward to the next time our paths cross. 👍

I'm here, then there, and then back up there after being down there over by the sea.😂

Sometimes I wonder why I own a boat? Today’s problem…. Broken Boatlift. It’s a good thing I own 2 docks, for the first time, I have docked my boat in my backup dock. Here are some pics. I need to get this fixed…… ASAP.

Racing Sunset.......
20241002_183449.jpg

One of my favorite Havasu cruises. We look up Sunset time and order a Big Stick from The Outer Harbor at Havasu Springs at Sunset. We enjoy the drink and the cruise 35ish back to the Island. Sunset to dark is about an hour so we usually beat dark by 10 minutes.

Hey now! Congrats. A good friend of mine owns Ola. Awesome place
One of our favorite spots down there. I would have voted for Mutts but i knew that wasn’t going to win.
Ola’s Food was really good as usual. Waitress was very good. Only complaint was the fog/visibility 😁.

Very cool, making it past the 7 year “itch” is a thing. I think our first year was the toughest. We didn’t live together before we got married. Holy hell, what a learning experience.

Was the same way for us Don. Except we got married and 2 weeks later the wife and I moved to Hawaii. I was an idiot and thought that all we well. The wife on the other hand had a very difficult time adjusting. Very fortunate that she put up with me for so long. It is great to see the old photos of the two of you back in the day. boy has time flown.

We didn’t either. I agree with you on that and also the first few months of the first kid. But it goes by so fast. Congrats to you two, 31 years is an incredible achievement.

The Gallant Lady was the first yacht I was ever on. When I was about 14 we were eating dinner at Pier 66 and it was docked there. The owner Jim Moran was sitting on the aft deck as we were checking it out and asked if we wanted a tour. He showed us the entire boat. Very cool for a 14 year old kid. When I started working on yachts we docked next Gallant Lady at Atlantis all the time. They have a solid program and they run the yacht like a business.

I'm also surprised that lifted barge/houseboat thing is still there.
