@Bowtiepower00

And I have agree'd upon 8AM. Meeting at Wildhorse West bar, LLP side. Planning on lunch in the bar and fuel at the top. If you choose to go back down the front, its super fast. Only ~50 minutes or so to I-17. Its about 12 miles of freeway to New River Rd if you dare.

Eeesh, can’t wait until the masses move on to their next new hobby.
But, It's up to you. As I stated, speed differential would be large.
The trail doesn’t look too horrible, but your right the speed differential between a Jeep and SXS‘s would be an issue for a group ride of mostly SXS. Have fun.

We're on for Sunday, Mothers Day. Meeting at 8AM, Wild Horse West (Lake Pleasant Parkway & Carefree Hwy) Planning on leaving the lot at 8:15.

Looks like 5 cars? Hoping to get to the top noonish. Lunch, then back down the hill. There IS GAS up there. I'm bringing a 2 gallon jug, just because.

Probably a couple breaks on the way up.

I think we are in, just convincing my better half to get up early on Mothers Day. Headed to the river tomorrow to bring the golf cart home.

It will be our first group ride, so be gentle. It is usually just the 2 of us running through the desert from our river house. Looking forward to a change of pace.

Same here. We always do alone stuff. This ride is not difficult, just far enough to not want to be too far from help. Pace will be fairly chill I believe. most have kids with and my car is probably the oldest in the group. 2015 XP4. Dust probably the biggest issue.

Should be a fun day for all.

Steve can lead, whatever pace he settles on is fine with us, it’s not a high speed trail so should be a relaxed pace, or even a slow one depending on traffic. Supposed to be 100 degrees, and it’s Mothers Day, so we will see how busy it is.

Who has a radio in their car? I have one, and I’ll be giving my neighbor my handheld, if he can hear it. I will be on weatherman.

I’ve got tow straps, a reasonable trail tool kit, small compressor, and a 5 lug spare. I’ll probably throw a few extra things in the car (impact, etc,) just to be safe. I’m planning on bringing 2 extra gallons of fuel I’ll throw in at WHW.

We will leave Asante at 7, it should be a 45 minute drive (20 miles of off-road) give or take to WHW. If anyone wants to stage here and ride up that is fine, we have room for trucks and trailers for the day. There is plenty of room at WHW as well.

I think WHW has ice and a small store- I used to buy bait there but it’s been a few years. I think they are cash only but have an ATM on-site.

Believe me, the other Moms aren’t happy about getting up early on Mothers Day, either. Lol. But I think we will have a good group and they will all enjoy each others company. Maybe we can figure out something special for the ladies for putting up with our asses. 😂

My wife loves a certain bottle of champagne...I will try to sneak one on the ride to share.

If we can find Bloody Mary’s or Micheladas at the top, I think all will be right with the world, lol. Depending on how hot the ride home is…

Looks like a Beautiful day!

thanks for posting!

I wanted to point out that the Tow strap you have is a “bad strap” cut the hook 🪝 off the strap! The hook can break and Then become a sling shot! Lots of stored energy in the strap and the Hook 🪝 becomes the weak link.

it’s best to use an actual shackle (mechanical) or a soft tie shackle.

I don’t mean to be a jerk & bust the thread….
But a while back someone posted about an accident and the guy died from a slingshot trailer ball, wife and family were in the truck - sad deal.

it doesn’t look like your anywhere near maxing out the capacity of the strap, I just don’t want you to have a problem if you do have a situation where you Could max out the capacity ….

The strap was being pulled by people, not another vehicle, just needed a little tug to stay upright, we weren’t going full send off the grille guard using a strap with a hook on it, lol.

Hahaha 😝

We actually had to put a second strap on the cage, also pulled by hand, just to keep the wheels down.

Three guys on quads helped man the second strap. No small animals were harmed.

The “step” is a real obstacle. Two 3’ steps on slick rock with wet tires.
Good group, no breakdowns many laughs.
