I agree that the media (and that damned Oprah) is glorifying W.H. and her Life/ Death to the point of nausea.
I also agree that it is sad that real heroes do not get this attention.

Having said that, I also think that most of the haters calling Her crack whore and standing in judgement of Her would/ will change their tune when it is their daughter, son, wife, etc. that is abusing drugs.

Her rendition of the National Anthem at the Superbowl is still the reference by which all other performances are judged, IMO...crack Ho or not.

Most of it's been said already so i'm not going to go into detail. The main problem I have with Whitney and all the other Celebrity screw ups is they are put forth as the role models for our younger generation. I heard a news commentator the other day saying how Whitney was just that.. A role model for all the younger children. Well let's think about that for a minute. That means our children should grow to their potential, then start abusing drugs, marry into an abusive realationship, glorify the use of drugs some more, then die before 50. Is that really the role model any real parents out there want their kids following.:thumbsdown

Whitney has made more media buzz in death than she has in recent years thru her talent.

By the way, Elvis Presley died in much the same way. That makes him a crack hoe too. :champagne::skull:D

I would want my kids to know that talent, money and fame cannot make you happy and that drug abuse can take down the best of us as easily as it can take down the worst of us. She was the perfect role model for that concept.

What's comical/sad is how so many in the general public are defending WH, who basically lived off her talent without growing it anymore than she had to, and went down a path to self destruction. Yet a guy like Tiim Tebow takes his talent and builds upon it and is criticized for what the media has made him out to be, a religious zealot, by a large segment of society.

Elvis died on the crapper and Whitney kicked it in the tub. If you ask me they are horrible role models for the plumbing industry.

She isn't completely without success.

wikipedia said:
She released seven studio albums and three movie soundtrack albums, all of which have diamond, multi-platinum, platinum or gold certification.

Grace us with some pictures of your multi-platinum albums, Texi.

I guess I lack sympathy for anyone that ruins their life w/ drugs, and even more so someone who ruined such a high potential life.

People I'm friends w/ seem a bit shocked when I just said "crackheads die, no surprise here" upon learning she bit it.

I'm w/ Killer, way too much attention to this "suicide of sorts", too little to actual heroes dying way too often.

As usual Tom your lack of reading comprehension, as far as understanding the intent of each post, comes to the surface once again. My 2 posts in this thread are directed at WH's inability to overcome her addictions and be a proper mother to her daughter who is heading down the same path and the fact WH was blessed with a talent that she abused.

She was a lovely lady and sad figure all in one. Her demise was preventable if those around her and those who claimed to loved her voice had done more than just use her for what she gave out. Her story and that of Elvis and Michael show the same sad story of lonely insecure individuals who needed honest help and support, yet received none. Too many enablers worried only about the rewards they could reap for going along with the self destruction in fornt of them.

I have no albums period but if I'd been born with the pipes WH was born with, I'd no doubt have that opportunity.

I'm not bashing WH, I'm bashing the media and followers who used her up until her last breath. Those who could've helped her leave the world at later date and a chance to help a doughter who needs her mother's full love and attention in a sober state of mind. What're you doing, just stirring the pot it seems and plying "holier than thou"?
