Flu has been eradicated.

We went from 30k-40k/year, to less than 1000 last year.

I give all the credit to vice president Harris [emoji1787]

And before our resident imbeciles say “that’s because we were masking up and social distancing”…then how come covid didn’t likewise disappear?

The Influenza deaths are combined with PIC. It’s a giant shell game that leftists are using to control the proles. And the number of willing fools is astounding.

Roy passing this last weekend has really thrown me for a loop. I habe always been concerned about getting the virus, but like most just wash hands regularly and don’t go licking door knobs..

However I am supposed to leave for LOTO here in two weeks, and I’m doing the math on this.. I don’t know if I will catch covid or not there.. but I know a 100% with 100’s of thousands of people coming from all over there is a 100% chance I’m gonna get exposed to it.

I’m just not sure it’s worth risking my life to goto a boating event.

On the inverse side though I can’t help but wonder if you couldn’t just as easily lick it up from a gas pump or a shopping cart.. it’s spreading around Havasu like wild fire right now.

I already have commitments towardsa house we rented snd it’s gonna get paid whether we go or not.. which is 2-3k. Total trip all in if we got would be 10-15.. (towing the boat out this year and flying everyone else in)..

Would you go? I am kinda leaning towards not going..

I wouldn't go. But I'm older than you also. I'm also vaxxed recently. I just backed out of going to a business event next weekend where they'll be 500 people packed in a room all day. Mostly younger adults where Covid is spreading right now. For me it wasn't worth my perceived risk. Everyone sees risk differently though. Go with your gut. People say you only live once and I'm not living in fear, etc etc. My view is why up the odds on death earlier. The odds are bad enough for us older people as it is.

Honestly(RARE these days), all you really need is Vitamin D. Whether you are getting it from the Sun or taking a supplement. Make sure your Vitamin D levels are up and you will not end up dying or trying to breathe on a ventilator. Low levels of Vitamin D are the common denominator for the people who end up in ICU. Vitamin C, Zinc, Melatonin, and Quercetin can't hurt either. Anyways, Don't take my word for it, go look it up. Vitamin D. It's basic.
I've got the best tan since I was framing houses every day and I'm also on D3 every day.

I’m sure that we have moved on from the original subject at this point.. but I have decided my health and my family is more important than beers at PBC, so I’m canceling my trip and will just pay my share of the house..

I don’t know what the answers are, but I know what they aren’t..

I know this virus isn’t the god damn flu.. Since Roy passed it actually enrages me when someone says that. It is to minimize what is happening to people and burying your head in the sand.

I don’t know how it picks and chooses, or what it was designed to do. But I know god damn well the flu wouldn’t have killed Paul or Roy.. or hell even Carey for that matter. I dunno anyone that has died from the flu.. ever.

I know the answer isn’t to lock yourself into a cage of fear.. but I also know common sense doesn’t dictate going to a spot with hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country (or even the world) when there is some airborne invisible thing fucking people up either.

I think it’s time where people need to stop the tribalism.. stop down playing this thing, but at the same time realize that freedoms are as equally if not more important than risk. Without freedom there is no quality of life.. With ultimate freedom there is no quality of life (that is anarchy).. It falls somewhere in the middle. People should have the freedom to get the shot, not get the shot. People should have the freedom to wear a mask or don’t.

People shouldn’t be condemning one another for their personal choices, and their personal choices shouldn’t affect others way of life. There should be no mandates. There should also be no shame for choosing To reduce risks by doing what you think is right for yourself.. whether that’s getting the vaccine or wearing a mask.

Tribalism sucks and is the death of independent thought.

Sorry for the loss of your friends.

I disagree with you on several points and agree on others, but let’s take masks up.

When the FACTS are that they don’t do much of anything and are far worse for you due to breathing in your own bacteria, there will be tribalism.

When “experts” continually tell us to one thing, while they do another, there will be tribalism.

When you mandate fake science, their will be rebellion.

I agree that people have the right to do as they please, but when those same people mandate their BS upon people that can think for themselves and see through their BS, there will be problems.

In the end, I’ll continue to bring the other side of the coin to this section and hope that people continue to see through the government’s narrative. If that’s tribalism and inappropriate for your forum, independent thought is being stifled.

I think that's a wise choice Dave. I have about 4-500 friends meeting inside a convention room for an event Saturday that I should be going to but am choosing to not go. 500 young adults at least half of are not vaccinated. Even younger people are having complications and dying from this shit. People only get it, when people start dying that you know it seems. You're so right, it is nothing like the flu. I'm just going to continue to be careful like I have been since this started, not being around large groups inside. That seems to be the main source of problems and infections. Even though I'm vaxed now which may or may not add a layer of protection, I will continue to be aware and thoughtful of where I go and who I'm around. Everyone should deal with this how they see fit and butt out of how others perceive and deal with the risk. As it appears mandates seem to be the coming trend it will be interesting to see how many actually hold their ground and get fired. I'm glad I'm not an employee for this and a lot of other reasons.

From a scientific standpoint, it is a flu virus. Just a bad one like Swine and others in this family of viruses.

10's of thousands die annually from the flu. Typically the elderly, very young, and those suffering immunity issues.

I think the confusion with most is that it's your body's response that typically kills you, same as Covid.

Typically 1/3 of the people who die from flu-related causes expire because the virus overwhelms the immune system; another 1/3 die from the immune response to secondary bacterial infections, usually in the lungs (pneumonia) and the remaining 1/3 perish due to the failure of one or more other organs.

RD, you do what's best for you and your family. How much "risk" or how much "protection" you have should be up to you as an informed person.
Being "informed" is increasingly difficult though, as the facts change as do the guidelines or mandates.
The best any of us can do is try to keep our families healthy. What that entails is different based on locations and lifestyle.

https://rumble.com/vktdpt-our-first...-actually-killing-people-in-the-hospital.html. I believe treatment is also a key to success. I feel venting has caused some deaths and doctors are treating it wrong. Just because he or she is a doctor doesn’t mean they are right. Just look at this article just another source of information that could help someone. No body has the real answers but I believe we all act differently when we get sick. We all have stories about some of family and friends who got covid. Some have made it and some unfortunately did not. I’m really starting to feel the treatment is the key and I will leave it at that.

I agree that people on both sides need to let the others live out their own life. I dont judge anyone ( except the solo outdoor mask walkers ) for their way of dealing with this virus. I personally have been anti mask and for ME not willing to take the vaccine but have also elected to stay away from certian things based on the crowds and exposure. My wife and I just got over it and we are fine. IMO it is not the flu it is some funky odd stuff that as you said hit's everyone in different way. For our family we dont know anyone close to us that was hit with anything serious from Covid and we know a lot of poeple that have had it from my 85 year old parents down to pregnent 23 year olds. Since we had no refernce of a healthy person having issues we elected to go about our life and just get it and deal with it naturally but this was our families choice. I was convinced early on that everyone on earth will get this just like cold, flu and other respiratory viruses. They don't go away and and vaxxed are still getting it. I think the real answer is that we should all take a look at our health and get our asses in shape so when we do get Covid or flu or ?? that we are more equipped to handle it.

There is nothing wrong with making a personal health choices to stay away from large crowds. Hell long before Covid I would hate going to Disneyland because I new someone was going to end up sick.

The tribalism does suck and watching the division is really sad. Make choices for you and your family and if friends give you grief about your choice maybe they should be removed.

As for common ground on this issue I could be wrong but I think we can all agree that lockdowns, masks and vaccines have not made this virus go away.

Is that from the same CDC that just had to correct their numbers for Florida after getting called out for their fake data? 😂

Let's try this once again now that it's been a couple weeks. Remember Sweden (30% vaccinated, no lock downs EVER, 10% mask usage) and when you asked "yea, but what about their neighbors?" I do

Up to date numbers

Natural immunity is the only way and that CAN'T be achieved through mass vaccinations!!!!!!

Your vaccines are making things worse, it's Epidemiology 101.

As shares of MRNA-vaccine purveyors Moderna and BioNTech tumbled on Wednesday, Reuters reported that the EMA, the EU's medicines regulator, is looking into new potential side effects from the still-experimental MRNA jabs, including suspicious skin reactions and kidney ailments.

According to Reuters, three new conditions have been reported by a small number of people after vaccination with jabs from Pfizer and Moderna. The ailments include Erythema multiforme, a form of allergic skin reaction; glomerulonephritis, or kidney inflammation; and nephrotic syndrome, a renal disorder that leads to heavy urinary protein losses. All of the cases are being studied by the EMA to determine whether the vaccines might be linked to the conditions.

People in Israel still getting Covid after the booster thrid shot.

Stop the madness please.

I get the adverbs to the commie and liberal tags. But those commie and liberal characterizations are accurate here for the most part. If they are accurate, then not really name calling. HAH

To this day I still cannot understand how something that was a medical term became an insult and how we have to call it something different because some people (that aren’t even the people in the conversation) feel it should be that way..

that’s the beginnings of PC, that is the beginnings of woke, thst is the death of a thousand cuts.. this is where the left was born and grows like a virus.

Retard means slow or to slow.. to retard the timing of an engine or a hundred other things you can use as examples..

It was an actual medical term!!!

I agree it was an actual accepted medical term, it was used to describe my own daughter.

There was a time that calling black people nigger was an accepted term too.

As time goes by, some terms, or words, that “can” provoke an asskicking in the right setting.

We could go a step deeper here and consider the term “fat”.
You see where I’m going with this, right?

And “ nigger” was an acceptable descriptor.

This is a cartoon from the mid 1800’s when Blacks voted for Republican Ulysses s grant.

You can see that the author, a democrat, titles the cartoon with that word.
How ironic...using censorship to defend censorship?

I think you may be confused about the differences between “insult”, “PC”, and “woke”...?

Then again, I’m just a “cancer lover” who probably is lacking advance in my timing...

My experience?

This thing has surrounded me with carnage from the beginning, 2-3 deaths now, one guy has been on a breather for months - he's not coming back, and another survived but won't recover and had to go out on disability. Multiple people hospitalized, huge bills. Clients died and have been hospitalized.
It's cost my business unbelievable money and angst.

I got the vax as I'm immune compromised from kidney cancer years ago.
Thrilled about it- no. There have been all kinds of problems with vaccines.
Worried about it, not really, even though there is risk. I believe the covid risk worse.

There are almost no places one can go to have a real discussion about it.

People often claim its no big deal because its only X% die, but they leave out hospitalizations in this claim which if you survive a host of other things can happen including crushing medical debt.

No one feels the % that die is ok when that number lands on a loved one or dear friend that would have otherwise lived a lot longer.

This whole thing sucks.

This right here says it all. It's kind of like my outlook on politics: What is the lesser of two evils? You don't choose what is "best", you choose from what will cause the least damage.

That's why I'm interested in facts, but they are hard to find. The "truth" is what people say it is, but when they change their minds, it becomes confusing.

What is the current age of Covid-19 deaths? It was 84. With the actual avg age of death at 77. (I believe that was for Female)

Mine and my Honeys parents passed away at 61, 63, 74, 81. Averages out to 69.75. I'm hitting 62 soon...
That gives me about 8 years remaining....

I'm gonna RUN IT HARD!!!! while not wearing no FUCKING MASK!!

Do what you got a do.... last I checked..
No one gets out of here ALIVE!!

Stay Healthy my Friends...

Mask, no mask, Vax, No Vax, play outside or stay indoors....

Enjoy LIFE

that’s the beginnings of PC, that is the beginnings of woke, thst is the death of a thousand cuts.. this is where the left was born and grows like a virus.

Retard means slow or to slow.. to retard the timing of an engine or a hundred other things you can use as examples..

It was an actual medical term!!!

It was, and just like many words took on a different meaning (which has a very negative undertone). At one point in time “mental retardation” was a medical term used to describe a person with a learning disability. However, that has been replaced with the term “intellectual disability” because it is more accurate and accepting.

The word furthers a negative stereotype about people with disabilities. If you can’t understand that, your part of the problem and not the solution. There are many other words to choose from instead.

as an honorary simian, I never really get butthurt. thought you knew that, are your a retard?
I was disappointed in you. still am. you chicken out on occasion...selectively.
likewise, when I go comatose, I never really sleep.
I just do this.

Solid effort Lucy. 👍

Dave and I are in the same tribe, plus I learned long ago not to bite the hand that feeds. You had your chance, you chose the wrong tribe and will be treated accordingly. A man that's blind to a stolen election, bullshit vaccines and backs the raping of women in prisons "cause freedom" is no tribesman of mine.

There is no unity with insanity.

here's the thing.
the stimulation of the immune system by one type or subtype of a vector will never prevent (infection by) all types or subtypes of a vector that has capacity for adaptive mutation.
in our current conditions, the vaccination campaigns - worldwide, by every serious professional in epidemiology - it was never really the intent to cure.
cure is not possible (yet, though medical science is making vast strides)
the best we get is a theoretical or hypothetical 'herd immunity', which merely means there is enough immune resistance in the broad population who are vulnerable for the 'herd' to achieve endemic tolerance of the vector, perhaps even making the vector become ineffective and eradicated from lack of hosts to infect/transmit (like smallpox)
the intent remains to avoid the overload of healthcare systems, to avoid mass graves, and the 'end of days' scenarios that happen when people panic widely, while giving the population time to build broad immunity, to eventually achieve the hypothetical or theoretical 'herd' tolerance.

You know it can't be done through the vaccines and with the Pfizer jab at 42% efficiency after six months, not only is it a fool's errand, it's pure stupidity due to ADE.

"overload of healthcare systems" 😂

So overrun your fellow perv boy put them in nursing homes instead of using the Mercy or make shift hospitals that were built. Maybe you can get the nurses to do some more Tik Tok videos OR continue to have the fake news use fake pictures to continue the fear porn?

Look at Sweden like I told your sister and stop embarrassing yourself.

already discussed that weeks ago. apples and melons. poor comparison. when are you going to learn?
what is it they say about doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

"In stockholm, most Swedes were very concerned, only the far right loons there ( a tiny minority) were acting like idiots."

45.4% vaccination rate as of today, oh yea almost all left wing vaggots............................ 😂

You remind of a newscaster trying to tell me how covid is soaring here in L.A. when we're up to a whooping 2-3 K a day for weeks after dealing with 20K during the height of it and we all know those numbers are pure bullshit also.

It's your ilk's thinking that is making this worse.

You've got a lot in common with 530, you both aren't as smart as you think.
