One place still seems pretty reasonable. Just went to In-N-Out for lunch four Burgers three fries two drinks 28 bucks. Not bad considering
Stopped at The Habit the other day for a burger. I had a #2 combo, my wife had a salad with a bottle of water and it was $28.96.

In-N-Out is usually my go to but my wife was with me and she didn’t feel like a burger.

Inflation is as old as time immortal in countries with fiat currency. Our massive and ballooning federal deficits are the root cause, and both Democrats and Republicans are to blame.

The main strategy for countries with massive debt is to inflate their out of it, or at least manage it. Just do some reading in the history books.

Worldwide sovereign debt is over $300 Trillion, over $31 Trillion in the US alone. It stings everyone and you just have to plan accordingly. The only way to attack the root cause is cut entitlement spending, about something none of our politicians are willing to speak.

Painful to watch history repeat itself, and it is happening right here at our front door.😡

Costs for everything are crazy. It's $60 for my wife and I plus our 2 daughters to eat lunch at Jersey Mike's. It's actually the same or less $$ for us to eat at a sit down restaurant, as the sit down places don't seem to have raised their prices as much as the take out chains. We are holding onto our hats....
I can’t stand jersey Mike’s. 16 bucks for a 9” sandwich or something like that. The value isn’t there.

And I agree about the restaurants. I can go to lazy dogs family of 4 and it seems to be the same price, more food, and quality seems better.

We drink a lot of Diet Coke, and buy it in bulk when it's on sale. Everyday price of a twelve pack in 2021 was around $5.49. During holidays the price fell as low as $2.88.

At the grocery store today:

Its hard for me to object to it really....customer called about some brake caliper rebuild kits today....I gave him a price of $36.99 (each caliper) for boot and seal kits. Sounded like he fell out of his chair. I asked him if he'd been out to lunch lately....and then took his CC number. lol. Might raise prices again tomorrow, not sure yet

Fridays is out of control, less food, poor quality and higher prices. We haven't been to Fridays is a couple years. Family of 4 with tip $110

Red Robin prices have gone up but seems to be about the same size portions and quality as 5 years ago. Family of 4 with tip $80-85

Chili's is the same as Red Robin. Family of 4 with tip $80-85

Jersey Mike's is a once in a while thing, the sandwiches are great but yes, priced a little high.

Panda Express prices have gone up but everything else is the same.

I'm at my office on the west side/Avondale 2X's a week and eat out those days but prefer to eat at home to make sure I'm not eating complete shit. If I'm out with the guys it's at least $15. But I drink water and don't do chips or frys. I opt for the bigger sandwich or burger since that's got actual nutritional value. You can still get a 3X3 animal style for $7 at In & Out. Jersey mikes when they send out a coupon - load app, order sandwich, use coupon, delete app, fuck them, El pollo loco has gotten more pricy $15-17 but at least it's fresh. I typically do the 3 piece white meat, no drink. I tried chipotle for the first time in a long time and it was about $10 for a chicken bowl.

When I take customers out on the company it usually BBQ at $25-30 a head. Rudy's or Erics. Those trips get pricy.

What's strange with doing intermittent fasting is I seem to have complete control over my appetite over a 18-24hr time frame. I force myself to eat and take a break. I refuse to eat what I consider shit. Taco Bell, McDonalds etc...

Bottom line is cut out all the shit that's bad for you and it's not a terrible value depending on where you go.

Dude...Pure garbage you're ingesting. And they went woke. I wasn't a huge soda drinker to begin with but always had coke at the house until their only hire blacks for white collar positions thing happened. Now they get nothing from me. I suggest you save yourself and do the same.

Fuck coke!

Remember when 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast was $4.99 not so long ago?... Took the wifey last week, she got pancakes, I got this View attachment 1341124
$42.00 without the tip!!
I paid $5.99 for my bacon, scrambled, white and home fries. $15.99 now. That large orange juice $7.

I rarely go to Rudy's these days in old Torrance because of it. Used to go 5 days a week. One of the cooks is partners on the "Nook". I try and go every 2 weeks at least to support him. Country fried steak is $25 after tip. And if one of my old servers Annie from Rudy's is working $30.

I called 4 local vets for my Dog. $1100

Friend was over Sunday. His dog is in bad shape. $475 to look it over. No prescriptions. They want to x Ray and do a in depth diagnosis before prescribing. $2K. He doesn't have the funds. I got him some prednisone and amoxycillin and dog has improved 75% in 3 days.

Yeah how are folks making ends meet ??????????? went to Chilis the other nite, I had a hamburger (regular not of of the pricey ones either) and the wife had salad plus we had 2 iced teas, thats it, bill was with tip $45 !!!! Now to me thats excessive to the hilt, other folk dont seem to bother them ???
Soup line at the church is gonna get long before its all over, sad !!!
NFS
I completely agree. However, it is actually cheaper to eat at Chili’s than any fast food restaurant as of late. They have $10 meals that come with a drink for lunch. A shit burger from McD is $12 by the time you make it a combo.

I’m a cheap ass when it comes to food. Since Covid, we rarely eat out. Our goal is to feed our family (me/wife/13yr/11yr) for $25 or less. We can do it most nights but it’s becoming hard.

I don’t know how a single parent can survive in this world anymore.

6 months ago my Mom’s dog got diagnosed with cancer. Dog is 13. The vet tried getting her to spend $20k to help the dog live 6 months further. If I hadn’t gone with her she would’ve done it. Dog died 2 months later.

So my kids had a school fundraiser at Wahoos and 20% goes to the school. So why not it’s been many many years since I’ve been and I don't think the kids have never been.

So for the 4 of us (kids are 11) was $70.😳
4 fish tacos
1 chicken bowl
1 beef teriyaki bowl
Chips and guacamole
3 drinks.

It will be the last time. Wasn’t all that great and la Bufadora fish tacos are way better.

Yep… 60-80 bucks has become the norm for a family of 4 at a fast/casual type restaurant. Crazy. When we’re out and about for soccer games I now prefer going to a sit down restaurant for about 20 bucks more. At least you get some service, and in some cases better food.

Even Google is doing it.

They host my business email. Even though my domain is hosted by GoDaddy, who came highly recommended by Rivermobster, I prefer that Google routes the email.

It was $7/mo for years. Then last year they raised it to $12. Tomorrow it's going up to $14.

You know what, f* you, lol

I can eat at In-n-Out and get better food for less money than what you get at McDonalds. Crazy!

For us, a family of four, we can go out to a standard run-of-the-mill restaurant here in L.A. county and expect to spend $80-100. Or, I can swing by the store and pick up goodies to make dinner and spend around $40. Eating out is no longer an inexpensive option.
