The term custom is thrown out a lot in this industry. To some manufacturers it’s actually gotten to the point of picking. Your colors on the same gel scheme they have done on the last ten boats..

I stopped by Concept Marine to check out a friend’s new build getting under way.

Before I get started I wanted to a second to point these out. These are mock up parts that were made via rapid prototyping. What that means is the parts were drawn in a 3D CAD software, the files were sent to a prototype house, the files are sliced and then parts were grown (not cut) layer by layer in a matter of hours to test fit, function.

This is what I used to sell for a living when I worked for Tbulger, with a variety of different processes.

I couldn’t hardly believe I saw RP arts at a boat shop!

As the boat comes together you will see this is going to Be a different style down pedal assembly / lock out then we have seen before.

This is the drivers sear base mock-up. The hole will be where there’d goes to run a cantileverto run the car hardware under the floor for the first couple feet until it goes to an open stringer boat.

Remember those prototypes? Look at what is on the outside of the stringer. Those are the real pieces installed. If you look across to the other stringer you can see they did a dual ram steering installation thruthestringer itself!

Its Ridiculously nice, but you don’t know the half of it! The plates, pillow blocks, backing plates are all made out of titanium!

What blows my mind is they have 0 protection against tools, feet, etc. I cant even get in/out of my boat without being paranoid of little rivets on my jeans, belt buckles, dirt, etc... and its not anywhere near that condition of the boat in that pic. How they install all that stuff and do all that custom fabrication going in/out a hundred times before parts fit and are actually ready to install for the last time without a scratch is beyond me.

What an amazing build. The cap job, the floors and bilge, the hardware, just incredible.

This part struck me funny though:D

Bad ass. Titanium plates will be a bit stiff. I've driven one with stainless plates and they are a lot stiffer than mine...but holy shit does the ass end look sick!

What's it getting for power?

I see RD's post about 3D printed parts and I'm trying to figure out why? on a custom boat.

Then I see the museum piece err custom boat and understand why (and how that is cost effective). It's because on this boat cost is not object.

Unbelievable what some people will pay for things but it's no big deal since they have "too much money." I hope those people know us non-ballers appreciate things like this.

The amount of time and money that has been dedicated to this build is unbelievable. There are no words to describe how nice this is. Frigging unreal!

Jewelry...

I'd finish it and then mount it on the floor of my dinning room with a piece of glass on top for a dinning table - I couldn't possibly get it wet.

Most Schiada guys don’t beach them at all. The guy that owns this one has a 24 Schiada that is over the top as well. He pulled up next to me when my 27 was beached in front of the condo that Stacy was selling. I can’t remember if they floated it and held it or if they beached it

What's odd here in Northern Nv, Tahoe area nobody beaches, nobody; no matter how perfect the sand is. Plus they all have bimini tops up all day from morning until evening.

That is one beautiful piece of machinery. I hope the owner will use it more than just a run to Fox's on Sunday... :D

I want to know what power it will run! Also ....why the power steering for a rudder?

This boat will have a hydraulic helm Kind of like an outboard. Typically big bow or Schiadas Will run hydraulic steering. The old ones would run dual cable.

The motor is a big inch all aluminum turbo Hemi being built by Brummett

You get a ton of input on the rudder with just cables...it just makes it easier to handle.

It's a Schiada, that's the mentality of most of the owners. Lol!

Fixed it for ya.... Lol!

With a 3 year old and a 2 year old and with just 2 seats and everything is open...not very safe or practical for the family at this point. No way I'd ever sell it though...it works perfect and to replace it would be $250k...minimum. I'll just throw a new trailer under it, fuel inject it and keep a fresh coat of wax on it!

...... And get hammered and sit in it in the garage and make engine noises while playing with the pedals. Lol!!

That's caused by big power/speed? Why is it different than a flatty? Or is it just to be more pleasurable to drive hard?

Gorgeous piece of machinery right there!

Even tho I've been research'n for some time now, the possibility of a second boat! :smackHead:
The biggest problem I see and am having is! It's Gorgeous! -- Expensive! -- And Awesome! (Got that in metal now! lol)

Cuz in my hands it would be parked out in the elements -- probably covered, washed a couple times a year, (maybe) rode hard and left out to dry.

Having been to several events since 2005/6, (Desert Storm(s) and Poker Runs!) ... Parked for some good pic take'n spots at the docks! ... And with slip loads of these thong boats at inner & outer Harbors, at every ramp parking lot, and the channel just about every time through! ... I witness!!!

The Wipers!

These Gorgeous! -- Expensive! -- And Awesome Thong Boats pull in, tie up, throw towels down to walk on, (Never Ever see anything but bare feet) and as soon as them engine(s) are shut down! ... Out comes the towels and the Wipe'n begins! ... Next slip Repeat! ... Pull er out the water gets a double wipe down with spray bottle of choice! ... Get er to the garage and it's call or do a full detail before the next water trip!

...I'd bet if you added up the hours run time on these
Gorgeous! -- Expensive! -- And Awesome Thong Boats -- And the amount of time spent keep'n that way! .. Keep'n em that way wins!! :D Lol

...Even worst than that! .... Where's the fuk'n pole holders!:D

But serious though! This is gonna make someone a very Awesome, Gorgeous, and Expensive!... garaged Queen Thong Boat! :D o_O

Really creative approach on the steering and I like the way they are using the pedal mounts as the anchors for the V-drive brackets.

I have been friends with John Cogan the owner of the shop doing the build for over 20 years, You can not ask for a nicer guy to work with. His work is second to none on these type of boats. I would expect nothing less from him.

If I tied it up at Foxs' I would bring a deckhand/bouncer to watch it while I was socializing...I'd be nervous to take that baby anywhere there were people around

To do you one better when someone builds a Schiada if this caliber most of the time they don’t put any deck hardware on them to preserve the lines of the boat. Meaning no cleats etc..

I have a lot of friends who’s boats will never touch a dock.

John Cogan is a master of his craft. I bought my 210 from him and will continue to be a loyal customer and I recommend him to anyone. He always takes care of his customers and is a guy you want to have a few beers with. Bitchen schiada as well, I was really lucky to pick a boat previously owned by him
