Too bad they'll lose if/when they meet real opposition. The SEC will crush them.

Lucky.... Sc Wont cover the 38.5 spread over Hawaii week 1

I hear you - the expectations are through the roof but it should be a fun season if team can stay somewhat healthy.

Kiffin: another reason to dislike SC.

I will say though, Rocky Top is definitely the beat fight song ever.

This is all media hype IMO. SC is a brand name and the media slobbers over them just like Notre Dame. Oregon will take the league for the 4th year in a row. Book your tickets to Eugene for 11/30 now fellas and dress warm;)

Media hype. Oregon is rated #5 and Notre Dame isn't even in the top 25.

Oregon is definitely a strong team, and I like Chip Kelly. They will give the Trojans all they can handle. Good thing the 11-3-12 game is in LA this year...The trojans don't wanna go up to Engene. If USC has to go back up too Engene on 11-30-12 that will be a very difficult game to win, especially with a BCS title game on the line.. Yikes!! Go Trojans!!

Relax Pokey. Take it game by game. Remember these kids are only 18 -22 years old. SC beat Oregon last year at home BTW. Its a loooooooong year. ;)

I know, your right. One game at a time, I agree.:thumbsup. Remember last year's game in Eugene though? I couldn't wait for the time to expire. We got off to a huge lead, and we couldn't stop the Ducks in the 4th. Thankfully the game ended when it did, they were scoring on every possession. But like you said, its a long season, let's worry about Hawaii on 9-1-12.:thumbsup

Undoubtedly, SC and Oregon will be playing twice this year the question is where. Oregon's problem has always been their D and they should have one of the better defenses in the conference this year, lots of guys returning. SC will be tough but I don't think they're as deep as some of the other top squads they've had in the past. The ducks are speedy and very deep consistenly rotating players in and out to keep fresh legs on the field. This alone could pose a serious problem for SC especially if they get a few injuries. Its gonna be fun to see it all play out! I will be pulling for any PAC-12 team to get it done this year.

USC will have to win that 11-3-12 game vs Oregon if they have any chance of making the BCS title game in Jan. Both SC and the Ducks will probably be undefeated coming into that game, and in the AP top 4. Losing in November isn't good, especially for the polls. They always say its better to lose early.

I agree. I can't wait for that system to kick in.:thumbsup.

How about this...lsu / Alabama to play 11/3 as well. That Saturday conceivably could showcase the top 4 teams in the country playing each other (USC/Oregon ; LSU / Alabama). I won't be working that Saturday! :thumbsup

True, but Oregon beat USC at home the year before 53-32, have to see how injuries and confidence plays out, for both teams.

AP poll don't mean shit....BCS does. SC just needs net go undefeated and get back to the titlle game....unfortunately the media whores sux the SEC dick more than any other conference so likely SC will play LSU come January, if SC runs the tables....one loss in the Pac likely gets them the Rose Bowl at best.....SEC is the strongest conference in the voters eye so much so that they put two of them in the title game last year....don't see that bias changing anytime soon at least until someone like SC can win it....even then there is the SEC, then USC and a big focking gap until you get to the Oregon's, Texas's, VT's..etc

Hopefully SC will live up to the hype this year.....I will definitely be rooting for them...

A "big gap" between SC and Oregon, LMAO.. UO won 3 of last 5 meetings and SC had to hang on for dear life in last years matchup. This isn't the 80's.

80's...try 2000's.... Oregon has been good the last several years mostly while SC has been hampered by sanctions...so you have won 5 conference titles, tied another and two of those titles were while SC was on probation...does not sound like a dynasty to me....stick to track, play by play poster boards and those cool diapers nike changes for you every game....what a gimmick school if I ever saw one....did not exactly help when you actually had a shot a BSC title...

USC....11 titles, 18 conference titles, 6 shared....enuf said.

Let's just take a look at Rose Bowls. Oregon has won two last year they finally won the rosebowl but (USC was on probation and beat them head to head) and in 1917 the beat Penn 14-0.

USC has 25 Rose bowl victories.

It will be interesting how Uof0 takes their medicine from the NCAA investigation since they were already on double secret probation from 2004. I hope Phil Knight outfits them with Nike knee pads because they are going to need it to keep recruiting going after the hammer drops. :D

:blah:In true SC nut swinging fashion, past conference titles, championships, and heisman winners become the basis of the team's current ranking/strength. Nov. 3 can't come soon enough;)
