Not sure this shot was supposed to get out, as I think its magic how the carbon gets in there??? but I think this is going to be an interesting combo, black carbon over gray with wood??? I heard the wood is going in today??? not sure what kind???

If that's the gray boat (mine) the wood should be white oak. I do like the idea of the gray inside with the carbon, goes with the motor.

Thanks, but not all the pretty is on the outside! Just got the heads back from Grose Racing Engines and they're gorgous! Joey did a helluva job on the ports and chambers. That picture is just a mock up to make sure everything fits. Just as an FYI, The motor is 14:1 CR, Cam is Howards 4/7 swap, duration @ .050 is 277 deg. intake and 283 exhaust, lift is .810 int/.765exh . We are going to go with Jesel shaft rockers (1.7:1 ratio) because of spring pressure (250 seat/800@lift). The manifold is an Edelbrock Victor Ram 2R that Joey ported to match the heads, carbs are Holley 0-80920 Gen 3 Ultra Dominators. These things are infinately adjustable and I think we're going to need that to de-tune it!!! Ignition is all MSD, Pro-Billet distributor, 7al-2 box, coil is an HVC. We have yet to call Lemons to get the headers made but that's coming soon! Now you know just about as much about the motor as I do!:yikes

The work these guys put out is absolutely incredible. I would LOVE to volunteer my spare time just sweeping the floors at the shop HOPING some of their knowledge would come my way.

You're a lucky guy; you have a great opportunity being able to spend time with these fellas.

Hahahaha! I think the fact that they allow you to show up and snoop around the shop and take pictures and ask questions is the COOLEST thing ever!

That's a testament to the type of gentleman you are spending your time with. Men like them with that amount of knowledge and an easy-going personality are hard to come by. You are definitely lucky!

I finally read this entire post from the first page to the last and their work is incredible! As always, thank you for posting up!

Please give my thanks to them for allowing you to be there and to share their abilities with us.

Finally made it by the shop for a few quick ones !!! Lots going... Gray boat gettin some wood !!!!

I heard the stringers went in for good this morning!!!! What colors you going with inside?? Power ???

That's cool! By colors do you mean the hardware? Probably going to be purple or black haven't decided yet, we still have time tho. As for the engine, we got our shaft rockers, had to send intake stands back to Jesel to get taller ones because of longer valves. Once we get those back we can get pushrods and button it up. Still have to get some small stuff for it but I think we're going to wait to get the boat before we do that so we get it right the first time.

I work the next couple of days, but, yes that is your deck getting layed up and your hull is almost ready for the world to see (I peeked today and she looks awesome!!!!) As soon as I get the green light to post up the super secret pics of your custom stringers, I will.... until then, take my word for it..... she is awesome !!!!!

Here are the latest on the black drag racer, catching some rays outside!!! getting closer to moving on !!!!

Rumor is the other black racer will go to paint soon and start going back together.... all her jewelry has been polished and anodized... she is going to rock!!!!

Those stringers rock!!! It almost looks like they're a composite center with wood laminated to either side, very trick, can't wait to see them done and in person

I will share your kind words with Pete and Sean. They are an amazing source of v-drive and go fast knowledge. I asked Sean to look at Jr.'s cav plates to see what we could do and to improve them. They were all over it!!!

Rumor is, your deck is done but still in the mold and hull should be wrapped up in the next week. The last time I saw your hull she looked puuuurity.!!!

I think this V-Drive is for one of the black boats!! Pretty cool stuff.

The Blown Alky boat went to the paint shop and I will post pics of it as soon as I get some. In the mean time, all the hardware has been polished and plated and waiting to go back together!!!

KF's hull was weighed today and everyone like what they saw numbers wise. The deck is ready to go and she should go together soon!!!

I think they were planning on a laying down a couple more layers before the final clear coat, but she is moving right along. The deck is done and just waiting for the hull. I was there the other day when they weighed your hull and the seemed pleased with the numbers they saw.

I'm guessing that they are trying to get the weight right at what Pete and I discussed, WOW that's attention to detail! We can't wait to see it out of the mold so we can start making our minds up as to what colors we're going to do hardware and graphics in. The wife says purples & blues,my son says purples, grays, and something bright, me, hell I'll be happy to have a boat again (sold the Kurtis back in April). I know that the engine is black & gray with a bit of polish. Decisions Decisions!!! RB, thanks again for posting up all the build pics, can't wait to see what some the others look like. Dave
