I received a beer making kit years ago as a gift...and I like beer, so I was happy. I learned shortly after staring my first batch that I like drinking beer more than I like making beer, so I threw the stupid thing in the trash. It's the same with coffee....I stumble out to the kitchen in the morning after getting out of bed, push the go button on the keureg, and by the time I have my pants put on, my coffee is ready. That's pretty adult. The last fucking thing I want to do in the morning before I have my coffee is spend time making a cup of fancy coffee.

I have a ninja for regular days. Days I really need to work I’ll go to Starbucks and get a grande with quad shots.

You can program the juras to warm up in the morning. Walk into the kitchen and just press one bottom. Coffee ready in 30 seconds.

I don't drink the stuff but my wife has this.
Starts with whole beans, grinds and brews.

I make my coffee in a french press. I'll grind the beans then brew for 4 mins. And by the way, this Vanilla Chobani creamer is the best creamer I have ever had. The taste is incredible... My local market has a tough time keeping it in stock.

Nespresso is great for a pod style. Make sure you get a small one as you will be traveling with it.

My wife and I bought a breville touch impress in November and love it. It was middle of the road priced at $1500 a week after we bought it they on sale for $1200. William Sonoma honored it and refunded us the difference. They have great customer service and will demo a unit for you in store. With that being said we still use a reg drip coffee pot during the week and lattes on the weekend.

Moccamaster 3000. It is a "basic" adult drip system but brews top notch coffee very quickly. Wont break the bank at around $350
That looks like the ticket 👍
Happy wife, happy life.

I’ll stick to keurig for me…ain’t nobody got time to actually make fancy coffee in the morning.

We’ve had Saeco,Jura’s, etc. Three times the money. This is the machine. We’ve bought five of them over the years.

Sounds like you made your choice, but my vote is for a Jura. I bought one for my wife a couple years ago, she loves it. Probably a break even over the long haul versus the Keurigs we owned, since the Jura uses whole beans, which are cheaper than Kcups.

We have a Saeco and love it. Super easy to make great coffee. My daughter bought the Phillips. It makes a great cup also. As others have pointed out, we also do a French press on weekends and in the RV.

I second this, have wanted one for a while, just hard to justify a $350 coffee machine when my mr coffee already brews a nice cup. I just drink straight black coffee but I like the thermal carafe

I've tried Every method.

Then one day, visiting a friend, they served me from their Nespresso machine.

Now all my fancy coffee grinder stuff is in a garage cabinet gathering dust.

It's a "pod" deal, but they seal their pods in nitrogen, and they use nothing but first class grinds. Huge selection of coffees and sizes. Whatever you fancy in a few seconds.

It's not cheap by any means. But oh so Totally worth it. 👍🏼

You'll want the Vertuo if you want to make a variety of different sizes.

My folks have a Ninja Coffee maker system. It's modular, it has a K cup attachment and an attachment made for making a full pot of coffee. I think that a great design..

You beat me to it . Good ole Mr Coffee . Same here set for 4:00 AM . It is not the coffee maker but the quality of the beans . We have a coffee company in Tucson called Savaya Coffee . I was talking to the owner and found out his family has been in the coffee business for over 200yrs . He says it's the roasting process that makes the coffee not what you brew it in . They take every shipment of beans and do a small batch and roast at 3 or 4 different temperatures . They decide which tastes the best and then roast the rest at that temperature . He said even if they get the same beans in a month later the still do the test roast because every batch has it's prefered temp for roasting to get the best flavor .

Also an Aero press makes a good cup of coffee .

If you only drink a cup or two a day, Mr. Coffee is kind of a waste. We have one that gets used once a year for Christmas when everyone is over.

I was sponsored by La Marzocco for two years when I was racing bikes. They didn't give me a machine unfortunately, but offered one below cost. 33k machine for 15k. Hahaha. Yeah right! I did have a bunch of their cool cappuccino cups though!

I have a Moka Pot to make cubans with. They are awesome

just started getting into this myself, never knew there was this cult following for them. Lots of differing opinions on grind size, temp, pre-warmed water, filter vs no filter, etc.

i've made a few great cups though!

I've had a Jura for the last 10 years and can't live without it. Major Dickinson blend ftmfw.

Beware of buying a different brand all in one coffee machine. The Jura is built to last and is easily serviceable.

Spooning off that first couple teaspoons of the brew as it rises and whipping that into the espuema is the key. That first rise is super concentrated and makes the sugar foam 👌.

Also using bakers sugar that is ultra fine grind, and I'll add a splash of heavy cream when making the foam

We have a few at work, even do the Moka pot with Cafe Bustelo, I still like my regular coffee pot with Jose's Vanilla nut bean from Costco the best.

Plus the pods are cheap especially compared to Nespresso. Makes a cup of coffee in a few minutes for about 27 cents, can't beat that.

Why would a person spend extra time grinding special beans using a special brewer and then put cream or sugar in it. Just get Mc Donalds Coffee. ;)

Because I'm not leaving the house without at least one cup in me. :)

That's the nice thing about the thermal carafe, you just take it out to the shop or on the porch, or where you want and have hot coffee for hours.

I love coffee. Nothing better than a warm cup in the morning but the more I try fancy coffee I find I like regular black coffee like you find at a diner or donut shop.
Screenshot_20240215_100659_Chrome.jpg

This machine is perfect for us.
12 cup drip pot for every morning and a Kurig Cup side in case we want an after dinner or the kids want one of their fancy coffee.
Add a 10 dollar grinder and you can buy pre-ground or whole beans.
Done for under $150
