I picked up and worked on several of these back in the late 90's. Great looking boat with the radar arch, not a rough water boat though. Found this CL add tonight, seems like it could be picked up for almost free.

I'm sure it is hammered and probably has structural water damage that would cost more than it's worth in pristine condition, but I remember how cool these things looked back in the day, albeit it is missing the radar arch.

Top kind of looks like a Hallett, forgot the model. When I was boat shopping 10+ years ago, Carrera's with bravo one's were just out of my price range; most were in the 15k-20k range then. Ended up with a commander jet.

Floor is probably soft if the back seat is. If the transom is solid could be an OK starting point.

P.s.
Its a 27ft..
and that boat was listed years(2015)ago when we sold ours. Pics look the same..
It's was at a construction yard before. Not sure it was same owner...
It was easy to pull back seat and interior panels..
I pulled it a few times for stereo work and upholstery work and servicing..

My Buddy has one and that thing is a wave crusher. Super Sharp deadrise, he goes to Catalina often!

From what I remember, the 23.5, 27 and 31 Elan ( 2 produced) had minimal deadrise and or headroom under the deck. They looked amazing though, great lines and the gel work was topnotch. The 22.5 Viper had a much steeper entry angle / deadrise and handled rough water much better the the 23.5 - 31 Elan. I really liked the Viper, EU styling and very versatile.

Your boat looks a lot like one that went to Seattle around 1991ish.

The Carrera boats manufactured in Riverside CA were not wave crushers, I'm guessing yours was built on the east coast. Different companies and hull designs. The shop I worked at also had Checkmates and had a 30' model at the same time as the 31' Carrera, the Checkmate 30 model looked like a rectangle in profile, the entry angle was so steep, same as a Scarab that was taken in one trade. The Carrera's entry angle / deadrise was so much less. Not wave crushers.

I just checked with him. He has the 31 that must’ve been different.? I got the size wrong. I can send a pic to see what you think.

Carrera only produced 2 or 3 31' Elans... they had the same low deadrise / shallow deep V design. Not trying to debate, just going off of memory from the early 90's. They were not a deep V, would like to see a pic of something I wasn't aware of.
