Is there still such a thing? Used to be Orange County Plating bit not sure if they're still around.
Pretty sure they aren’t around. They did stuff on my banshee back in 94/5 and it’s still great.👍

I used another place in Riverside in 04/5ish for some stuff on my wife’s quad.
Some of it is turning to shit, and I’d like to get her pipe done as well.

I second The Wheelsmith. They have polished a bunch of stuff for me and do great work pretty quickly.

Watching this, I need stuff done also, my understanding is that "some of these refinishing shops" send their shit to TJ weekly on turn around trucks because the EPA is probably almost nonexistent there allowing it to be much cheaper. The last thing I had done a few years back (shop is gone now) went that route and actually came out nice. Alot of lowrider parts I'm sure end up there like paint and upholstery and they demand A+ work, so the proper copper/nickel chrome process is used I am told.

My experience is it is substandard to chrome work in the past. The guys I know who do high end work send parts for auto restoration chrome to a shop in Mexico.

Excellent work and chrome that lasts decades.

MJB in Rialto is still shown as in business, even though the long time owner died recently.

I saw an ad either on Craigslist or Instagram about a guy who has a shop in Corona/Riverside. I can't for the life of me remember who it is. He specializes in VW and Porsche wheels. I don't know about him or his quality though.... I too need a few pieces done and have also been looking for a shop in SoCal.

All my friends here in New Mexico who need chrome work make weekly trips to El Paso.
They meet at a parking lot with someone from a chrome shop in Juarez.
Couple weeks later they go back and pick up their parts.
Work is outstanding and reasonable.

Here is the place I saw. I haven't had anything finished by them, but it's a start. 👍

Look for true triple plate shop, my original 65 valve, timing, done before kits, alternater, power steering, control arms, gas tank straps, hood hinges, ashtrays and trim were done over 45 years ago still not bad for shows, only real problem was hood cross springs, they twist and chrome doesn't.

You pretty much have to go outside Cali to get good chrome or request high end processing as mentioned. Kali is fuked for anything worthwhile.

I sure hate to think I passed on some bad info about someone passing, but now I don't remember where I heard it, hope I'm wrong.

Inventory your parts. Photographs. We used to send out a whole car or half a car at a time. Layout moving blankets. Layout all the parts and take pictures. Send the pictures to whoever’s doing the job. And send picture and list with whoever picked it up.
When you get it back, lay a blanket down and put all the parts in the same spot. Easy to inventory. Even with that we would seemingly always not get something back. They find it in the bottom of a tank or not at all. Was a real Problem on cars that were one of one.

Bill passed away last month after a long battle with cancer. He was a great guy and racer and will be missed by many.
