.. I’m gonna start backwards here because I’m sure there’s just way too many scars from my younger days…

… I did this about two weeks ago… I play my guitar at 1 AM every night… Well occasionally because I’m tired I have fallen asleep sitting up in a chair playing …Generally, as soon as I start to lose my balance, I wake up… But the couple of weeks ago I didn’t… I had already set the guitar down… And this time when I fell asleep, I didn’t wake up…my left forearm landed on the steel guitar strings… Ouch … ripped a big flap of skin off my forearm… I carefully placed the skin back… And I’m letting it heal… My doctor chick said I am doing well with it👍… am I going to stop playing my guitar chancing falling asleep… Of course not🤷🏽‍♀️… fun is fun…

… Continuing on here I have recently run into a girl I knew maybe 30 years ago …one of the bar Friday night regulars … when I did my stint sitting on a barstool…Her general nickname was Patti Bellevue… Named after the Bellevue mental hospital in New York…somewhat deserved… man I have stories about her mostly for another time… But she was a tall blonde with a beautiful body… Let’s just say she was friendly👍… About a week ago, I told her the story about ripping my arm open and sent her pictures… I jokingly said… I hear chicks dig scars… She texted me back saying that I was misinformed… Patti also had another nickname… It was Patti the rocket scientist… The reason being she really was a rocket scientist🤷🏽‍♀️

… OK… what is the truth here …do chicks as a rule of thumb really dig scars🤷🏽‍♀️… If not, I may be screwed… Even with the 79-year-olds.???…

I have a huge one from a ruptured spleen. . Trying to imitate my childhood hero Evil Knievel almost killed me @ 12

My hands have 50 years worth of about every trades distinction.

My heart has the scars of five ex-wifes and a heart attack.😄
Same, spleen and appendix ruptured, back when they used chainsaws to open you up. 🤪

My 21st birthday was spent in the hospital. They swore it was appendicitis...and that turned into "exploratory surgery". I woke up thinking a few holes, lapriscopic stuff...nope, can opener 🤣

8th grade. Jr high.

Fell off my bike and road rashed the whole side of my face. Had to go to school like that, and take all the shit that came with it.

So about the time the scabs are starting to fall off and heal, I try the same stunt again...

Riding a wheelie, off the street and into out asphalt driveway. Yep! Same result. Road rashed the exact same side of my face!!!

So back to school I go, this time Really taking a ration of shit!!!

As I'm walking by the nurses office, she spots me and says....

OMG! You have something growing on the side of your face! 😱🤣

I'm trying to explain to her, how I fell off my bike, doing the same stunt twice, but she absolutely does not believe me.

Drags me into the office...

Gets my parents on the phone...

And my dad says ...

Yes, he's that's stupid. He crashed his bike twice, doing the same damn thing.

Good times at Jr High.

🙄😜

I get those damned things on my arms too. If I'm working on something and bang my forearm, it turns purplish. After that if I bang it again, the skin rips like paper and they bleed like a bitch. Both arms healing up now after working on vehicles a couple of weeks ago.

Goddamned old man stuff.

… Oh so true… old man stuff… Even when I was younger, ended up with a lot of scars from working on stuff… But I didn’t bleed like I do now🤷🏽‍♀️

I did almost that exact same thing about the same age. The look of horror on the woman walking as I rode my bike home freaked me out, so I pedaled faster. road rash with DG embedded from my chin to my ear across to the eye. Looked like I had a beard when it scabbed over, but I can't grow a beard because of it even today.

Neosporin three times a day helped keep it from scaring.

Mine was coming up short on a double jump and riding my face down the landing. When we were kids we built all kinds of dumb jumps all over town. They always had a giant hole between the jump and the landing.

I walked home seeing my kneecap from this one. A radio flyer wagon handle got me riding it down a hill in my friend's backyard. I remember the nurses pulling chunks of rust and grass out of my knee. I also remember the numb stuff wearing off as the Dr pulled another stitch and getting another numb shot.

The worst part of that memory is it happened right before 4th of July and being at our families annual 4th of July party and my cousins and brother teasing me because I couldn't go swimming. Kids are assholes

Not mine, I’ve got my own fair share, but my son here continuing his own collection of war stories.

We spent 6 hours getting 5 stitches in the ER Monday night.
