I thought the whole point of an outboard was light weight?

I will admit, that's cool. What outboard platform did he build it on? Merc? V8 OMC?

... 580hp... not to be a jerk but he would get his balls handed to him by any of the decent Merc 2.5 mills bolted to a potato chip.

Looks to me like the only thing stock outboard on that deal is the lower unit.. and I'm not even sure that's an outboard lower unit.. LOL

Looks like a Merc V6 fishing engine tower to me but I'm not exactly Carnac.

Look at the stand off bracket he made out of tubing... and the ride plate... :D

It looks like he's got balance issues, even on that heavy bitch of a boat he's running.

He's still got my respect for the sheer audacity of the project, though. :)

What do you make of that big tube that goes to the starboard side of the transom? Hoses going to the heater core?
