So we had a great time in SD! Ate some good food at Coyote Cafe and Hash House A Go Go. Kaylee's team did GREAT, but this competition doesn't use Varsity Scoring?? So.......we didn't score high and didn't place well. Oh well.......our gym owner says we will not be doing Fullout next year as it gets smaller and smaller every year and with the scoring system they have, she is just over it. Next stop Anaheim!!

That's a bummer about the competition but it sounds like you made the best of it.

Bringing this thread back to brag a little.

Last month we traveled to Dallas for the NCA Nationals, the largest competition there is. My daughter's team brought home another national title, a grand champions banner, a full paid bid to summit and the herkie high point award.

They beat out 235 teams in Level 2 to win Grand Champion.

We're headed to LA tonight and Anaheim next week before flying to Florida at the end of April for Summit.

WOW!!! That is awesome Forensic :D

Congratulations to her and her team, that is such a great accomplishment!

Our 4.2 team won National Champions at Dallas last year and we sent four teams to Dallas this year and didn't do as well :(

Next competition we will be at is Anaheim next weekend. I won't be able to make it on Saturday since my son has a baseball game, but I will be there on Sunday.

LOL.. Werd, and I thought pop warner was expensive going to PW Nationals twice. This gym just has my credit card on file and I'm scheduled to get my TSA precheck soon. 😭

It sure is a lot of fun (nerve wracking) to watch them do something they love so much.

CA sends a lot of teams to all the competitions. They try not to compete against each other if it can be helped though. They decided this weekend that they aren't competing here. Instead they will go as an exhibition team because there are 2 other CA teams still looking for a bid to Summit.

We'll be in Anaheim too.

Our J2 team went to Vegas and was 2nd going into Sunday and ended up taking home 3rd. Team from Hawaii crushed their performance on Sunday and leapfrogged our girls. Still great showing for Intensity J2, up against some tough competition.

I didn't make it yesterday either. Here today though.

Another very disappointing finish for our team. They killed it in both performances and were in 4th out of 14 going into today. Our coach didn't look at the scorecard from yesterday (or so he says) and we were warned about height on a stunt. Well they did the stunt again and since they were warned yesterday and did it again, we got a full point deduction. Girls finished in 10th. Not very happy at the moment because both coaches for my daughters team are rumored to be not returning next year, so I think they are checked out and it is a shame because these girls bust their asses and do so well to not have a decent finish all year.

Saw the Sonics running around all over the place. They have a BIG gym for such a "small" town....lol. I don't think they had a team in our division so couldn't tell you. Hope they did good, I always root for our home away from home. [emoji3]

Universal Sonics took 6 or 7 teams. Do you know what division they are in or team name?

www.varsity.com click on the USA All Star Championship results link.

So far the Universal Sonics have a 1st for Level 1 Large Junior

Congrats to them!! Looks like Universal Sonics took home 1st place in Large Junior Level 1

These competitions are fantastic. If you can ever get out to one and check it out, you will be impressed. The Level 5 and Level 6 teams are amazing.

You're not kiddding... Watch this IO6 team from our gym... I was lucky enough to be standing at the front of the stage during this performance in Vegas. Those girls were being thrown close to 30' in the air...

WOW!! That is awesome. We were standing next to a PCM team on Sunday and I thought that one of the girls looked like your daughter. Were you at the competition on Sunday? How did your daughters team do?

We just found out yesterday that our gym (Intensity All Stars) is merging with Surge Athletics to form the new gym, Intensity Athletics. I am excited for it, except for they are doing away with our green and replacing it with pink....:grumble:

Glad I didn't spend $100 on a football jersey this year!! This is a lateral move and I am hopeful that my daughter will benefit from it because this season has been pretty disappointing for us.

Our tryouts our May 6th & 7th, then right back into the swing of things. The weekend cheer camp is probably going to end up being on the same weekend we will be in Havasu for the Eliminator Regatta. Even though she won't be there, we still have to pay for it!! :grumble:

Good luck in your last 2 competitions!!

Intensity All Stars and Surge Athletics have merged to create a new gym, "Intensity Athletics." Tryouts were last week and after a ton of hard work my daughter has made their Youth Level 2 team. This team is going to be a travel team and will compete at NCA in Dallas :yikes:D

We are really looking forward to this season and can't wait to see them perform.

Nice! Do the Youth Level 2 teams compete both days or just 1? Dallas is quite the experience.

We went to Florida for The Summit. They placed 2nd in Junior 2 Large. They hit perfect routines both days with a final score of 98.35. Very proud of these girls.

Tryouts start tomorrow, 3 days worth. She is trying for a Senior 3 team. If she doesn't make 3 she wants to be on the 4.2 team and maybe crossover to the level 3 team in a month or so when she is more comfortable with her tumbling.

I don't know how many days they will compete yet. It is up in the air as to whether I am going to go or not since we can't afford to take the entire family with us (6 round trip tickets.....:eek). It will either be the wife or I taking her or just the 3 of us. Not sure yet. I really want to go to see some of those high level teams compete.

You guys had quite the showing at Summit! Way to represent the west coast! Good luck at tryouts! :thumbsup

Just got our final schedule for this year :yikes

13 Competitions
2 that require a plane ride (NCA Dallas and American Cheer Power in Columbus, OH)
1 in Glendale AZ that we will drive to (WSF)
10 events from Palm Springs to LA which we will drive to and from on competition days to save $$ on Hotel rooms.

They are competing for a bid to Summit, so we may have to go to Florida to. I am going to need to take out a 2nd mortgage!!!

Good luck! Thankfully my daughter didn't re-up for Pageantry. She finished out the year in track, and is now going to Softball clinics, to try and make the Softball team this year.

It will probably cost me even More money. :p

13 is a lot of comps. NCA Dallas is a fun one. 400 teams make summit but its a lot harder to get into than it sounds.

Good luck this year!

Here we go, the 2015/16 season is just around the corner.
California All Stars is having their showcase this weekend. 60 teams taking over the UNLV arena to show off for their parents and friends.

This year my daughter is on Sr 4.2, 'Sr. Silver', and will be crossing over to a Jr Level 4 team, 'Fierce 4'.
I think it's pretty cool but we basically live at the Gym now.

Good luck Cheer Dads.

Thanks for letting us know what team she is on, now I can look out for them at comps since CA is so big!

Our showcase is a little less than 30 days away and I am really looking forward to it. My daughter is on a Youth Level 2 team this year (Intensity Athletics - Amp'd Youth)

I will be in Dallas with my wife for NCA and we will also be at WSF in Glendale, Arizona. Rest of the comps are spread out through Southern California.

This year will be the most competitions we have competed in since we started 3 years ago. I am really excited and can't wait for everything to kick off!

Good luck to everyone out there, this season is going to be great!
