It's time for the 21st Annual Cheatin Chili Cook Off at the Big Bend Resort in Parker on February 16th. The event will be held in the parking lot in front of the store and it starts at 12:00. You can get your own booth and showcase your special chili recipe, or just bring the family and enjoy meeting new river people. The event is free and open to anyone who wants to come and just wander around. The rest of the info is listed below. Hope to see everyone there, thanks.

Cheatin Chili Cook-Off Rules
The official unsanctioned start time is 12:00 Noon Arizona time. No cooking will commence prior to this hour and your booth should be set up and ready to operate.
The only ingredients that may be prepared in advance of the starting time will be beans for the chili and cutting of your meat of choice and the chili?s and onions. All cooking of meat, spices, sauces, etc shall be prepared on site after the 12:00 Noon start time. Judging to begin at 2:30!!
The judge?s decision and resulting awards will be presented at approximately 3:00 pm. At this point jeering, cat calls, booing and general mayhem is expected to rain down upon the judges. This is a phenomenon considering that bribing of judges is not only permitted but also strongly encouraged!
Chili made in advance can be given as samples to the general public. All chili for event Judging must be made during the three hour event window.
All entry monies (less trophy costs) will be returned to the contestants in the form of cash prizes 1st place receiving 50%, 2nd place receiving 30% and 3rd place 20% of the pot, plus a little something for best booth.
Contestants must bring their own tables, chairs, propane stoves, etc.
