And they didn't have to lose as many games as the Raiders. :thumbsup

Next year we can have on of those "out of the ashes" threads.....LOL :D

San Diego seems to be the cul de sac of sports teams...... meaning Dead End! :rolleyes

Whoever they pick has to be ready for a possible move to LA; playing at the Rose Bowl for a few years, dealing with larger media, etc. Gruden would be a good fit, for sure.

Hey, I'm a Cleveland fan....dreams are all I have!;)

I hear ya! I wonder if Gruden is ready to get back into coaching now? with the Eagles and Chargers jobs open.:hmm

But I still think Pete Carroll would love the SD job. Wasn't there talk of him wanting that job when he left SC?

Norv Turner ruins another NFL Football Team. Is anyone surprised about that?

Spanos won't pay Gruden money. Gruden is getting paid almost $5M a year to do his MNF gig. I can't imagine him giving that up and going back into head coaching unless it involves a substantial pay raise.

As far as the LA deal goes I thought that project was on an indefinite hold at the moment? AEG was going to finance the stadium and the last I heard AEG has been put up for sale. I can't imagine a company that's trying to sell out starting a $1B project.

I'd really like to see hard nose football come to San Diego and bring Bill Cowher out of retirement. Rumor is he's in the running for the Chicago job.

Romo sucks , he will never lead the cowboys to the SB.

Carroll won't leave Seattle for SD. He's has something good going in Seattle .

SD needs a lot of help, to start ,a real RB and a true game breaker a WR.

Gruden may want to coach again, but he ain't gonna get his $ number from the Spanos people.
He would make SD real tho. In a huge hurry.

I think that Andy Reid is a helluva coach, he just got hung up in all the crap that was, is, and always shall be the Eagles.
I also think he is a man with some pride, and a man with a mission.
Whoever is running the show for SD could do a helluva lot worse.

I could see him going there, Cleveland or Philly. Cowher is an East Coast guy through and through so I would not expect to see him lead any West Coast team.

Wouldn't surprise Me to see Reid end up in Cleveland?

Romo "may not look for trouble..but He is always there"...
The facts are clear...He IS NOT a franchise QB. His legacy is set, IMO, and He will continue to fail as long as he remains a QB.

Reid is more than likely going to end up the HC in Arizona...

He has family here that are friends of friends. That really wouldn't surprise me.

I agree with you on Romo, however I do think Tony's a pretty good QB, just not in the playoffs.:p But I'm not sure River's is any better?? Phillip had some pro-bowl years, but he hasn't had that form the last 2yrs? Maybe he can regain that form under a new head coach? But River's has to be up there with turnovers by QB's the last two or three years, right??

Yeah, but Rivers isn't afraid of winning at least. (Whether a new Coach will bring him back to form..who knows?)

The thing about Romo is that he IS NOT a "bust".
He wasn't even drafted, wasn't a trophy winner, never had anybody holding him up as the next Roger Staubach (Well, Except Jerry Jones), there was never any reason to think Romo was going to lead anyone to a SB....and He has delivered exactly what he is, a utility QB in the NFL who never got drafted or led any team anywhere.
Jones just can't admit he got it wrong.
He still thinks he pulled a diamond from a goats ass.

I hope a new coach can get River's going again. I've always liked the guy.:thumbsup The players seemed to have liked Norv, but something needed to be done. ESPN is reporting Reid is talking with AZ. So should be interesting to see who ends up in SD?

On a losing team, Rivers' "enthusiasm" is easy to laugh at.
But, He does have that fire in him that CAN be an intangible.

Elway had it (Whom I could NEVER like!), McMahon had it, etc.

Elway lost 3 Superbowls before a HC change opened the door for him.
I am not comparing Rivers to Elway necessarily, but it COULD give him that spark to know that he CAN win when it counts?

He was putting up pro bowl numbers when cam Cameron was the OC. He hasn't had anybody to throw to and gates isnt getting any younger

That would be a horrible hire...

X2. Wow, I hope SD isn't going in that direction. Who else is on the list though?..

I agree. Rivers was great when Cam was there. When I would listen to the espn shows, they were putting him in the same league as Peyton, Brady, and Bree's at that time. I hope he can regain his form too. Like you said, he's getting older now, so idk?

Spanos has to hire a good GM before he even starts on a Head Coach.
Lots of ego's could get bruised, ya know:rolleyes:P
.
Reid lives in San Diego off season...could fit well but AZ is courting hard.
Gruden would light a fire here, but Spanos might be too cheap for him.
Cower would do a great job but he was Marty's friend and didn't take kindly to the Spanos firing Shotty.
.
Time will tell and all we can do is speculate in the mean time.

Be nice to see Spanos hire the best GM and the best coach he can get....instead of the cheapest he can find. The last 4 years have been torture.

At the Chargers/Raiders game Sunday with the Charger Girls. Those little shorties are cute!

Quite a rain and hail storm before the game.

With what team? He's only signed with the Cowboys through the end of next year.

He's heading to Buffalo is the rumor.

I heard something along the lines of a 5 year contract, I hope im right, because I would love nothing more then to watch the cowboys choke for several more years
