Talk about giving a guy ideas. Do we know who's boat this is? I've thought about a 300 on mine, but wasn't sure how it would carry the weight at slow speed. I'd love to speak with the owner.

They love their toys! The older one used the other hallett for the race, but he also has a schiada he built from just the hull. He's out at Parker almost every other weekend.

And, I'm the big sister by the way. Can't tell you as much about the boats as they could.

Where is the video of the heartbreaking end of the race? Leader is back in record time but steps off ski within 100 yards of the finish and NOBODY has any video of it? Musta been a few thousand people at the finish line and all cameras would have been on the skier....I've looked at all video sites (youtube type) and nothing....c'mon.

I got nothing, I saw it live and that was a heartbreaking finish. unfortunately there just is not always the coverage that this race deserves. If anyone is really interested in seeing what its all about There are some great DVD's of past catalina races. I was highly impressed with how good these DVD's are.

I saw it from the Maya, but it looked like that patrol boat was a lot further away from them from our vantage point.

In that photo I can see that maybe they had to let off and that might've caused a fall?

Jack Smith sent me that picture tonight, I never noticed the patrol boat. Seeing this picture made me go back and look at my pictures again. You can see Avila crossing the wake of the patrol boat and then Procter. Too bad I did not get the spill.
