The plan was to run out to the Farnsworth for Yellowtail but the backside of Catalina was just too lumpy and windy. We ended up coming back to White's Cove for Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. I was surprised to find half the cans empty on a Memorial Day weekend.

Converted a half-scoop of sardines into a half-dozen nice Calicos, and a Sheapshead. Trolled down to the East End and landed a few Barracuda and a 10lb Bonito (sashimi time!). Had a juvenile Mako on the line for a few seconds before his half-gainer snapped the mono.

That Gull kept making passes at the boat. Sort of reminded me of a B-52 on a bombing run.

The three boats anchored at Long Point are all from are dock. We own the one in the middle.
And your right the fishing was pretty good, but the weather not so much.

It looked like a Viking sportfisher named Xiphias(?), he was closest to me. Watched him pull in a nice Calico right there. You're Checkmate then, all three boats looked beautiful framed against the rocks. I was on the can just the other side of the work platform maybe 100' away, the older 48' sportfisher.

What marina are you out of?

We are out of Alamitos Bay. I saw your boat over there, I think you spent one night on the can.
