Question -

so if you have say $150 on you or carry with you, do you get cash once a month like - Cash a check for $1,000, 2,000 maybe 5,k and widdle that down then cash another check??

I usually get cash back after a purchase - say H depot $50 cash back

if I have say 3 jobs going on or 3 projects ( what ever) I’ll cash out 3 times one for each job so my receipts ( materials ) go to each project and then I can get cash back 3 times if I wanted or needed to.

Seems like a lot if my payments I recieve at direct deposit and I don’t go to the bank very often….

what works for you all?

I hit the ATM when my wallet starts getting lighter than I’d like.

We have a little cash stash at home ( zipper bag ) in a drawer for tips - pizza guy or neighbor kids selling stuff for school or a trip ( fundraiser )
usually dump the $5’s and ones and try to keep $40-50 bucks in it…..

Although everyone should have a Stash at home for just in case Cash ! I’d say at least $2 grand at a minimum ! in misc 100, 50’s 20’s for an emergency /power outage need to get fuel or food cash…

Was doing Xmas shopping the Saturday morning before Xmas. It was at Tower Records, been a while. CC card declined…BofA Visa, use it constantly, paid in full,etc. Used another card and left. Called BofA, software update, the previous night left every cardholder with a zero available credit. Call center guys were busy..

"Car" guys have always had cash on hand. When young, because stuff broke. As we get older, because people go broke, and we can help them out while "coming up".

Then, some of us got married. The advent of "secret squirrel money". This is money made with "come ups", which the percentage made is divided into a smaller, yet still believable, amount which is shared by the household CFO.

It's like money laundering on a smaller scale for some of us. It keeps you on your toes, but not the same repercussions as an actual mistress.

After all these “money” threads this week I’m really surprised at how hard headed some of you are with forms of payment. I use pretty much everything besides a check. Anything from my phone, a physical CC/debit card, cash, ect. Try to keep 1-200 on me and more close by.

About $300, mostly so I can buy good deals at my regular pawn shop stops. When you build a customer relationship with a shop owned by an individual, you'd be surprised at the prices they accept for valuable tools.

My latest score was a new Porter Cable belt sander for I think $90. It sells for $160-$190 online and in stores. I also bought a new Fender Champion 20 guitar amp for $60, it's $149 at Guitar Center. The electronic FX are a little cheesy, inline boxes are much better. But it sounds pretty good.

actually not too bad, we are paying 625 a drum delivered to our shop. 600 if its picked up i will spend more then the 25 bucks in gas going myself so we have them deliver. those are also the prices for buying more than 1 at a time. we "group buy" get 4-5 guys together and go in split up drums, we do the same thing with nitro to offset the cost. a drum of nitro is 1500 as of yesterday, usually we split a drum 3 ways. if i give them back empty drums that are not beat to shit i get 25 back.

Got tired of having my cards stolen…. Use cash now for the daily small stuff…. Easier to keep track of anyway..

I never use my ATM card… never.. I don’t have enough time to watch that account closely for fraud. The thief usually do the small purchase before they clean you out. Lol. My mom had $10,000 stolen from her checking one time. Son just had some stolen from his last month.

Business is all cards well cuz you know…. If it gets stolen I just take someone else’s card. Lol

Gas cards….who has that kinda cash on them…. Lol
