I have a friend who is a retired Navy Seal and we have talked at length about the war in the middle east, and on any potential actions against the cartels. The one thing he has repeatedly said is, "If we do not change the ROE, if we are not committed to the violence required to defeat this enemy, we will never beat them."

Never occurred to me.... are they chopping heads again in TJ? Went through that maybe 10-15 years back or so... there were years I wouldn't set foot across border.... seems like they always leave us tourist towns alone further south from that TJ heat..... TJ to me is like LA just nothing good about either.
Two years ago, iirc, the election season around TJ was a bloodbath. The areas known to vote a certain way found heads in coolers, dropped off at their polling places. Many of the opposition groups, those not on the take from any party, found themselves dead. Last year, the mayor of TJ moved into the military base.

The cartels are usually busy fighting each other. In cities, they don't seem to target foreigners. They don't care about hitting them with crossfire either.

Heads still getting lopped off, and people shot or lit on fire still happens pretty often. Not usually around the cities though.

You meant to say illegal aliens, right?
Why not "law breakers"?

If someone is "illegal" they already broke the law. Now we get to find out how far they will go, with no repercussions...

Agriculture and construction.

And unfortunately even when using Everify those industries have a large participation rate by illegal labor, much of which have been in the US for a long time.

Despite some jumping to conclusions, I’m perfectly fine with the policy of removing illegal labor and consequently any legal family labor associated with the deportation from the country. It simply makes limited productive capacity that much more valuable.

It was simply an objective observation that the policy was working consistent with the goals.
Ya know.... I have been in the construction industry for just over 20 years. Worked at quite a few different companies, various sized companies and in 2 boarder states. One thing that was common amongst all of them........ they ALL verified their employees were legit to work in the US. They wouldn't dare to hire illegals cause the possible penalties were too high because they were conscious and responsible business owners that didn't want to risk compromising their livelihood or that of their employees for something so easily avoidable.

The cop out of "Oh its easy to get around it" bullshit is just that.... bullshit. I've been a part of plenty of hiring and firing in the trades. We have caught plenty that tried to lie, we have caught several that asked for under the table pay because they were illegal.

If the employer is hiring illegals the employer should get the full wrath of the law as well.

Columbians I'd think 🤣
Oh, also forgot about Hispaniola, which is the divided island comprising The Dominican Republic and Haiti. Back to Columbus, he named it the Latin name, Insual Hispana.
Regardless, " Hispanic " is not derived from Hispaniola, but from "Hispania", or the Iberian Peninsula. I'd just say you're half Iberian. 😁 👍
