Cars with mustaches?

What's the deal? I keep seeing cars on the road with big mustaches on the front. Somebody explain the stupidity to me.

I see this quite a bit where I work. I think the mustache is so the people waiting know the car is looking for them because when the pickup happens the driver takes the stache off and puts it away.

I don't see how they do this. Here you need to have the car licensed as a cab and you also need an endorsement on your drivers license to carry paying customers. Major fines here for being an illegal cab, not licensed.

I used a cab few weeks ago. 5 mile trip cost $25 including tip.

I don't know, I didn't have to pay. I received a $25 credit when signing up and it's still on my account. My trip was about 3 miles from my son's apartment to my hotel.

The mustache's are gay, but it's actually a great service. I use it down in the Costa Mesa/Newport area quite a bit and I'd guess it's about 50% cheaper than a normal cab ride, including tip. I live around Newport Harbor High School and what would normally be a $10-$12 cab ride down to the peninsula is only about $5-$6 with Lyft.

It's just like Uber X. Used that at Stagecoach and it was way the hell easier than trying to wait for a cab and everything is handled over the smart phone. Plus the driver's aren't assholes like a lot of cab drivers are...
