Our office fridge is full of light beer from a party last year. Now that I think about it, the party was a year ago! Just how long is refrigerated light beer good for? It tastes like crap when new.....does it get worse?

Having a bbq tomorrow and thinking about cracking a few open....what say ye?

For what its worth,

Budweiser says 110 days.
I say half that.
But I don't drink Budweiser, either.

For throwing a party/bbq, I guess anything cold is good enough.

It depends somewhat on the beer. Coors doesn't use preservatives but keeps pretty well if it's kept cold. Budweiser uses formaldehyde in the processing so you can leave it out in the garage until it is unearthed by some future archaeologist.

Just mix it in with new beer, in a cooler, like a 1/5 ratio or whatever.
If anyone notices they’ll just pound it and grab another.

Pack it up and bring it home and save it for the next gathering at a buddys house so it looks like you didn't show up empty handed.

Drink it. my dad showed up last weekend with some microbrew IPA expired in April 2018. Tasted good.

If the beer was sitting in a garage and not refrigerated, I’d say toss it.

If its kept cold its fine. I had a 30 pack of Coors Light that sat out at the river through the high temps and tasted super skunky when i finally tried one. Threw it all away.

Beer is generally good for 90 days after that the big three will destroy it. I have seen beer mold in a sealed bottle. You decide.

This post right here!

After my grandpa passed 2001 we were cleaning out the storage/shop side of their finished basement. Found a few cases of Lowenbrau bottles, we thought “excellent”. My dad held one of the bottles up to the light as they were that dark green with the silver foil labels.....The Lowenbrau looked like heavy pulp orange juice!

God knows how long he had thise cases tucked under the stairs

I think a year should be ok. Usually have leftover coors light in the Havasu garage fridge from September to April and it still taste fine. As long as it’s refrigerated, it should be good. No one has complained yet. I think if it was refrigerated and then taken out, that’s when it would go bad.

How about a 6 pack of Mash Beer from the eighties that has never been refrigerated? Tried to sell it on E-Bay a couple years ago. Never got a bid. LOL.

yeah - pretty much this.

When I had my house in Parker certain guest left specific stuff (like Stella Artois) then returned a year later and it was good.

If it got hot at all- toss it -works as weed killer on a rock lawn - mostly.

It’s aged so it’s “fine” beer now. Pinkies up.

Budweiser contains formaldehyde. We were so sure that this rumor was a myth, we added it to the list to research later. This might come as a shock to you. ... Other emulsions are used now, so there is no formaldehyde in current beers in America (there are reports that Chinese and Thai beers are using formaldehyde).

I have the refer drawer for beer. I buy a 6er of coors light every year (for the keystone drinkers) and put it in the bottom. I make it so they can't touch my laughing dog and such beer, don't want my good beer tainted. At the end of the year they are still there and I give them to the guys that pick up my trash, then put a new one in there.

On our recent offroad trip by Salton Sea we came across an old miners cabin that's still being used which had many dirt and dust covered canned provisions inside. My wife found a Tecate beer that for whatever reason was calling her name. No clue how old it was. Dusted it off and drank it. She enjoyed it and is still alive with all appendages intact.
We left another beverage behind to keep the stock in the cabin up to par.

I can crack open a Bud Light and tell if it is old in one sip.

I think they screwed us up when they started putting the "Best By" date on the can. Once I see that expired date it messes with my head.
