Cancun or playa del Carmen

Have any of you folks done an all inclusive vacation to any of the above cities and liked the resort? I need some ideas to look at to book a vacation

I have been to Cancun 4 times 2 in downtown Cancun and 2 in Playa Carmen. If you want the loud, young single stuff then stay in downtown. If you want something more caribbean and a little quieter go towards Playa or cozumel. I stayed at Gran Bahia Principe in Playacar and it was the best. Check it out..

Playa del Carmen, no question. Not sure if you have kids, but the best adults-only, all-inclusive is The Royal Playa del Carmen. It's incredible and is right in town, so you aren't trapped at some mega resort, dependent on cabs. It is an AMAZING, five diamond resort with impeccable service, great food and top shelf booze... The sister resort, which is family-friendly, is next door and also gets good reviews (if you stay at The Royal you have access to this property too, although we didn't go there). I'd look into renting a house in playacar phase 1, some real nice pads in there. Avoid ocean front to many beachcombers and open exposure at night, it's safe but I prefer to be a bit fortified while sleeping. I have not been down in a while but im sure it has changed substantially, playa del Carmen is the fastest developing area in Mexico and has been for some time. Great town, super chill.

We stayed at the Spa Aventura Resort. It's a 21+ all inclusive hotel. It is located in Playa de Carmen, which we liked much better then Cancun.

Neither. Both are highly overrated. Id say stick to Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, or Ixtapa....seriously

My girl and I are going to Puerto Morelos in October. We booked an all inclusive at the resort called Now Sapphire. With air fair and hotel transfer it was $2400 for a ocean front villa with a hot tub on the patio. We also upgraded to get all the VIP access. We booked it on bookit.com. This will be our first trip to Mexico but from what I've been told it won't be our last.

My family and I stayed at the Iberostar Tucan. Had a great time. The resort is maintained well and is probably in the middle of the pack for All-Inclusives. We were in one of the beach side rooms thanks to our friend who organized the trip. I would go again. Don't forget to hit the eco-parks (Xcaret, Xel-Ha, etc.) Dolphin swims in mexico seem to be more wild than staged. Worth every penny. Diving was ok. Drift mostly over medium depth reefs.

Just stayed at Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen at the end of July, and absolutely loved it! I've also stayed at Le Blanc in Cancun. If you're going adults only, definitely look up Le Blanc. All the nice excursions are down by Playa del Carmen, so less travel if you plan to go on excursions.

Playa for sure. Iberostar resort.

It was all inclusive but I did pay extra for the boat ride to cozumel for snorkeling and the jeep tour. Worth every peso, best dos equis and blackened Tilapia I've ever been subjected to.

Cozumel is bad ass. Next time we go to Mayheeco I wanna just stay there. They have a Carlos and Charlie's with cheap drinks and awesome scenery.

Never been to Playa but just got back a couple weeks ago from Cancun. Stayed at the Gr Solaris and inclusive and had a great time. Lots to do at the resort and not too far from night life and shopping. Hotel is well maintained and the staff was awesome.
