I've had the AZ address for 26 years, I'm not just able to put my hand on a bible and swear I'm an AZ resident. I just have a residence in AZ, not sure it's the same, you know, legally. ;) Plus that episode where they've already sent me some seriously mean worded letters.
state ID does not require you to be a state resident just have an address.

So that entire "Residency" section, requiring two proofs of address to establish "Proof" of residency, is waved when you apply for a non-travel ID ?
I suppose what I really should do is take a few minutes (Ok and hour more like it) and make a phone call.

I found this different form online but not on the AZ MVD website, so not sure if it's still current. Agreed, it doesn't really distinguish between showing proof you have a residency versus being an actual legal resident.

Other than ease of buying guns and or items considered contraband in CA --- if someone were to inquire, like the person at the MVD as one example, what might be a reasonable answer to the question " For what purpose are you obtaining this ID that's not a "REAL, or Travel" ID ?

In fact, can it even still be used to purchase guns since it's no longer an acceptable Federal form of Identification ?

In other words, what's the point ? 😁;)

Ahhhh screw it, I'll just get the zero-emissions California approved Electric Powered Generator. Apparently they magically re-charge themselves so long as you're not watching it.

As a generator FYI, my son was sharing his experience with a Firman Tri-Fuel 7500 watt generator he uses at home in the case of an outage.
Other than being rather loud, like many of us, he prefers using propane as it's easier to store. This gives him about 6KW available with propane.
The generator when in use is fed through his whole house surge suppressors that are mounted in his main service.
It's a non-invertor type, and with one notable exception, everything including most electronics like TVs, Microwave etc, work fine.

What doesn't work fine is all his LED lighting, which being an electrical contractor he's completely retrofitted his home with. They all strobe.

A thread about small engines in CA becomes about battery definition, then about getting a Real ID in AZ, then about LED lights that strobe. RDP at its finest!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You really want to do this again? You called and asked them already and they told you there are 2 ID classes. State ID and the Federal version. That doc is for the Federal “Real ID” (see the yellow star?)

And it just says residency. Not full time residency, not where you are taxed, Not where you get yore boat registered.

It even says MVD documents count as proof of residency- If you have a kid quad registered in AZ and they send correspondence to the AZ address on file, that counts.
Btw.... when my wife went to get her license for CA after we moved back from AZ, the DMV told her that she didn't need to get a CA license since she had a AZ real ID. So instead she just got a CA ID card and kept her AZ license.

Now I'm sure if they went to run her ID for something that only an AZ resident could get, it would flag and probably preflvent her from getting it. But, if CALIFORNIA is that laced about that, I find it hard to believe other states would have a problem with it.

They really only care about where vehicles and vessels are registered cause they produce tax revenue....

Those lights won't strobe if you use an electric generator 😁
