California lumber tax?

Picked up some wood at the Home Dump and noticed a lumber tax re. I haven’t bought any wood in awhile and was wondering how long this additional tax on lumber has been going on?

Well I guess that tells you I’m not woodworker! It didn’t surprise me when I saw the additional tax since this is California!

I bought a piece of 3/4 by 3/4 by four foot moulding and it was almost eight dollars at Home Depot.

2x4 was over $9 now $2.98

I bought a piece of 3/4 by 3/4 by four foot moulding and it was almost eight dollars at Home Depot.

Baseboard, casing and moulding is a rip off at lowes and home depot. In the Southbay Moulding unlimited is half the price. My flooring place in LA is half the price of moulding unlimited. Crazy mark up!

I seem to remember calling the HD clerk out on that “Fee.” I was told it is actually a recycle fee or something close to that. I then asked if I returned the wood after I’m done with it, can I redeem the fee?
They just laughed.

65 cents on a gallon. Paint prices have gone crazy. $43.98 with $8.80 off for my paint discount for HD.

Yep, they keep raising prices, add fees and require more {now not only solar but battery backup as well} . . . then they cry they want affordable housing. You can’t have both.

No sympathy on the lumber tax.
