I was looking for a Raptor and found one in Texas, it's an 18 for $65k. $5,000 off.

I checked on the DMV site to see what the taxes in LA County would be and, Holy Crap! Almost $7 grand in taxes and fees! Some of those are total bullshit fees too. I'm sure it's only going to get worse with good ol' Newsom as governor.

It is the voters in LA County that did that, 10.25%, most Orange County addresses are 7.75%.

$132 for a 48 year old Chevelle (1971), I bought in 1995 for $1000! Criminal. It was down to $43 or $49 during The Govenator's stay in Sacramento. Gotta pay for the Bullet train from Shafter to Merced ($10.6 Billion at last report). lol

My fees go down each year. Wonder Why are yours going up?
All of CA went up last year thanks to brown. Went from $800 when new to $1084 last year and dropped to $1054. My 3/4 tons went up last year but not as much as the 1 ton diesels. Hopefully they continue to go down here on out.

The DMV fees are why I won't buy a new truck even though I'd like to have one.....I refuse to pay them. I'm not buying a new Moho until we move out of Cali either. My KTM 500 is 200 bucks.....ridiculous.

Plus we can go snow skiing and surfing in the same day.

How can you guys complain when you live in the state that brings Feinstein, Garcetti, Boxer, Pelosi, Brown, and Newsom to the party. That's a lot of awesome in one place.

Down from what? $1000 to $999?
Lol.

Even so I’m curious how it is that you and Bobby are the only people in the state that pay less for HC insurance and DMV fees each year?:D:p

I have a 06 3/4 ton and a 16 3/4 ton. The 06 i paid $100 The 16 40k. Not much difference in fees and insurance is only $200 more a year on the 16. Go buy a new truck and enjoy it.

Yes DMV renewal fees are off the chart. I have a 2006 chevy truck, $348.00, not too bad. I only use it to go to the river and pull the boat. My planned replacement when it dies. I will buy a 1975 older truck, el camino, ranchero...old station wagon. No smog ever. You can pick a pretty good one up for 10K to 15K. Very cheap to replace engine, trans, and to have work done (most things you can do yourself). The only down side is the safety options missing (air bags and such). However will still do it. When I was working and had a pretty good commute. I drove a MGBGT I picked up for 4K, drove it for 5 years at little cost, sold it for 6.5K. Then bought a 914, and drove that for 4 years. You get more attention also, conversation starter. Note if you decide to follow this process make sure to insure it up front at an appraised value incase it is totaled.

It isn't the money, it's the point we are being robbed. We opened two more cooperations for tax shelters here in CA to try and fight back at least a little. I find it difficult to support the government here in CA in any way.....so I'll stick with my old 05 Dodge.

My main reason for buying was the tax incentives so they get less of my money. My 06 works perfect just the fees are almost as much as new and I only use it a few times a month.

OK so my 18' Raptor was $ 874  While my 12' Camaro was only $ 265 :( ( Only, used as comparison, not as in it's cheap !!) BUT, I'm more pissed about the $ 364 paid to AZ for my Wildcat XX that won't see 100 road miles a year :mad::mad::mad: + the fuckin $ 25 OHV on top of that.

At that price just roll the dice on the ticket for driving the XX on the street.

My “old 05 Dodge” was over $400 to register.
So yep, I’m sticking with my old Dodge too. A new one will be over a grand.

Your Ferrari or your wifes Lamborghini?

LOL

Neither.....and the wife drives a seven year old Audi and it still costs a lot to register. :(

Here is an Arizona trick for registration though.

You register your car only in your wife's name, and her car only in your name. Arizona has spousal privilege. You get a photo ticket mailed to the registered owner of the car. You send a letter with a copy of the picture of your drivers license basically stating it is clearly not you.

Done, finished, dismissed. :) :) :)
