I have to hand it to the peeps that choose to deal with it. From Buellton all the way to Indio, stop and go, inch along, 50 mph then back to stop and go. I can see why there are road rage and shootings. If I had to do that everyday, I would want to shoot people too. I can just imagine what would happen if a catastrophic event happened and peeps trying to get out. Probably be quicker to get a row boat and head to Japan. I’m not even get on my own lawn Tom.

I’m lucky that I never hit traffic on my way to the office. I rented my office in that location specifically because traffic always starts the next exit after I get off the freeway and also it’s only a 10-15 minute drive from home.

We rarely drive anywhere where we hit traffic. I just refuse to do it. We have everything within a 10 mile radius so not need to go anywhere else. My mom, brother and sister live in the same area as well.

Traffic sucks because everyone wants to live here because “the weather” 😬

Traffic is my biggest issue and has been for the last 10 years.

I really want to go do stuff....river, desert, travel, whatever....but I only have weekends with maybe and extra day on each end of it to do it. When I was younger, I didn't mind leaving at 10PM and driving 4 hours....can't pull that shit off anymore, I'm normally in bed by 9. So, we drive during the day, and have to basically budget a full day each way for packing up/driving. Spending 2 days preparing for, packing up from, and driving to and from a place to spend 2 days gets old real quick. It got to the point where really all I think about once I get where I'm going is how to make the pack up/drive home less painful....so I just stopped doing it. I really need to get the hell out of southern CA.

You get used to it. 1.5 hour drive for me to go 22 miles. Did it for over 10 years. But since covid I now work from home and only go into the office maybe once a week. You also become aware of when and where traffic is and plan around it.

Did a turnaround to Vegas from havasu yesterday. About 2 hours 15 min each way. Moved here a year ago and dread the traffic when we have to go back to SoCal!

Did she ride a bike?
Well put it this way, she left Carson at noon, first time I called I asked if she is in high desert yet, she said no, I'm 25 miles from the 15. Second time I called she says she is in Barstow heading down the 40, I said wait what, her maps was directing her to go through needles, probably because of all the traffic, he if may have been faster lol. I sold her an older car she is driving to Idaho today from vegas, so little nervous she makes it but Vegas start with 8 hours of driving I'm sure it fine.

If I have meetings in LA it won't be before 10am or after 1pm. I won't do the crap traffic

Ca road rage looks like childs play compared to Phoenix. Like lbhsbz said I fell into the same thing. Then once you got where you were going it was fucking packed with people.

Being retired and living in a state (NH) with 1.5 million people we won’t ever have to worry about mega traffic anytime soon. 😊

I avoid a lot of it with my early call times and late days. But yes, it can get pretty bad.

All big cities have traffic. Can’t get away from it. I’m sure Phoenix, Vegas, Dallas have traffic as well. Just part of the charm lol.

You haven’t lived in freeway congestion until you do Atlanta traffic and the “perimeter loop,” as the locals call it, at rush hour. I’ll take the 10/101 thru downtown LA any day rather than deal with that shit.

Let's be more specific....SoCal traffic. It's not half as bad up here.

What does Frisco Texas have to do with CA? I've never been to Texas.

Speaking of Texas.. I just spent a week in Houston, place was pretty Ghetto, although the people are real nice. Feels good to be back in Socal with all the traffic..

All things relative as long as you’re comfortable where you’re at is all that matters.

I get the big city traffic crap. Former truck driver owner operator just is what it is. Living in small towns for most of the last 40 years really spoils you.

Until there’s an accident there. If I’m heading into LA there are a few options heading East/West. In Atl closures are exponentially worse.

So almost every year I drive to St George to visit the inlaws. I'm driving from SoCal, Inland Empire. I typically get up early to time getting through Vegas just after the morning commute traffic jams.

This year I decided to do something different. I drove out to Parker and spent the night, then got up and drove up to St George through needles and up the 95 through searchlight and came in via Henderson and then to north LV to the 15.

The 95 is a four lane highway in the middle of nowhere. Straight shot to Vegas, next to no cars until you get to Henderson, then you need to get through the Spaghetti Bowl of freeways.

I might do that every year now. Beats the pants off the 15.

I had to go thru that traffic pulling the 5th wheel. Ya, it was pretty bad

Atlanta holy hell, when we were snowbirds the entire drive from Michigan to Florida and back was timed around going through Atlanta.

Well final tally, 8 hours Carson to Henderson 250 miles or so, Henderson to Boise 9 hours little over 500 miles.

Brea Canyon, prior to freeways. Anybody recall it? Coming back from our cabin in the San Bernardino mountains on a Sunday. Brea Canyon was just a 2 lane highway. Our dad drove fast. That required plenty of passing in Brea Canyon. Inevitably, that would get him and our mom into brutal arguments. Not a great way to end a Family Weekend. Maybe today’s horrendous traffic is an improvement? ?

Frisco Texas traffic sux as well…. It’s even worse than SoCal because you have to pay to be on the highway regardless if there’s traffic or not.
Doesn’t Frisco have a ton of Teslas with student driver stickers all over them? IYKYK.

One time it took me 8 hours to go from Torrance to Hesperia on a Friday. No crashes, just traffic. Was leaving from work to go dirt biking. Last time I ever rode high desert.
