Thank sweet baby Jesus I'm off for covid protocol, but my wife is stuck in that shit. Ridiculous.

I've been stuck on that route too many times. Snow, wrecks, fires, you name it.

For what it’s worth it’s 5 AM I just checked the Cal trans map and it shows it’s snowing throughout the pass.

After commuting the cajon pass for 12yrs I have learned if snow is in the forecast call in sick. Or get a hotel room and wait it out.
It’s a complete shit show and the chp shuts it down if any amount of snow hits the ground.

Matter of fact on the 26th of last year I called in sick because of snow in the pass and my employer notified me they would not be paying me for Xmas since I was not going to work the day after the holiday.

I made a post on Linkdin about that and it blew up with 1100 views. They fired me in February for it.

Best thing that ever happened to me lol
I got a better job and I over see their projects and they have to answer to me.

1 inch of snow and the drive time increases by 3 hours. Jesus people, slow down and don't hit each other. /rant off

I was stuck in that mess last night for 3 hours. It amazes me how dump people are that end up making matters worse. Loss track of how many cars were stuck off to the side or in between lanes which then you had to avoid while not getting stuck yourself. If people would keep moving at a slow pace everyone would've made it to the top. Very frustrating. A 3 hour 30 minute driver took me 7 hours but at least we made it safely with no issues besides the extra time.

I will say that it was DUMPING snow.

9 hours to do a 2.5 hr drive last night. 7 hours from 395/15 junction. Got off at Ranchero to try to skirt around . . . Huge mistake I think. The best part was no heater OR defroster due to a poor but very expensive blend door "repair" by my local Dodge dealer.
We saw dozens of people driving down the hill on the wrong side of the road. We had our trailer trying to pull the ass end of the truck off the side of the icy road whenever we stopped on something off camber, semi trucks that just stopped and parked in the traffic lanes twice.
Perfect end for the Traveling 2020 Shit Show.

Been stuck on that pass too many times ... the drive from Havasu back to OC takes a full day ... regardless of what time you leave ... and what’s up with Hesperia / Victorville on the 15 ... is there a law there that says all people living in that area have to drive less than 30mph on the freeway ... now we leave on Mondays to get home in less than 8 hours ... jeez .

I saw this shit unfold yesterday on fb. Idiots trying bypass everyone by using the emergency lane, getting stuck and blocking in snowplows......idiots in their fwd shit boxes stuck on Route 66 thinking going in reverse was going to help them get up the cleghorn on ramp.....shit was comical

I don’t always drive in the snow, but when I do I make sure I have a 1 wheel drive turd wagon with bald tires and a check engine light.

I know what I’m doing.

This jackwagon thinks his hazard flashers give him the right of way? lol
Duh everyone in California turns on their hazards if it’s below 40 degrees and can’t see 5 miles ahead.
That’s extreme weather we are dealing with. It’s common knowledge that one must use emergency flashers to signal to other drivers they are scared shitless and have no idea what they are doing.

Why are you being specific and just saying the Cajon? I saw 6+ cars facing the wrong way after their single car spinout between Green River and Imperial Hwy on the 91 yesterday morning. CA is the bad driver epicenter.

In CA, 75% of drivers are taught one of two things... if there is precipitation, you go 45 or 85 on the freeway. If you are doing the latter, you must also weave. Both of these cause accidents.

My parents lived in the Midwest for the first 30+ years of their lives. My dad put me behind the wheel with him in snow as much as he could between 16 and 18.

8 miles east of the 15 on the 138 and the first guy to blow past everyone was on the right hand apron. Too much snow to see what he was driving over, appx 15 mph while no one else is moving at all. Less than 2 minutes later 4 snowplows come by on the right going three times that fast. Later we saw a guy driving against traffic force an F350 off onto the apron and later a CHP Charger driving against traffic with 4 civilian cars following him. WTF is that?
