Officials in California are so sick and tired of skaters violating stay-at-home orders ... they straight-up dumped 37 TONS OF SAND into a popular park to stop the illegal boarding.

The skate-place-turned-sand-box is down in San Clemente, Calif. -- and witnesses in the area say despite "no trespassing" signs during COVID-19 lockdown ... people still skated the park.

Don’t worry about the money. We are letting criminals and illegals out of jail so we’re saving money there. Sarcasm of course

California, where they build an oceanfront RV park for homeless, let criminals out of jail, and give 125billion to illegals.

Totally makes sense.

Escape from New York sequel in real life.

There is sand in there but it does not look like 37tons. Add to the long list to the media...”does not know weights and measurements”

That’s enough crazy talk mister!
The real criminals are skate boarders and surfers.
The misjudged victims being released from jail are merely justice challenged.
And how dare you single out those poor illegals.
Look here, handing out a little help to taxpayers is blatantly racist.
Reparations MUST be made to those who steal, shoot drugs, shit in the street, and especially those come here illegally with zero desire or intentions of being “American”.

My office is a few blocks away. So many Karens complaining on NextDoor and Facebook about 'too many people out'. Now the beach, beach trail, hiking trails, skate park, tennis courts, parks, etc. are closed.

people in Oceanside were complaining about the people out walking around the harbor while they were out walking around the harbor.
Keep your distance and live your life within the recommendations until April 30. After that, life better change or people will stop listening.

Those that complain the most are the low information people, the sheep, and future brown shirt brigade. The Karen’s and Gladys’ of the world love to shame people, as it makes them feel powerful and strong. Especially when they call people selfish, all so they can do the things they want to do. (See how selfish those that call others selfish are?)

They probably went to every store in town multiple days looking for TP too, can you say Germ Train?

I bet they either use heavy equipment to take it out and ruin it, or something else to ruin it so they’ll have a shovel ready project for big federal funds.

BTW, this is the same skate park where the off duty cop pulled his gun on a skater a few months back. Odd little place.

37 ton is a really odd number for sand delivery. Twenty five Ton truck and trailer. Super ten is like 14 give or take.

Okay. The words “misjudged victims”
Actually made me laugh. How sad is that.

This is so dumb! how much did the city spend on this, and how much will they spend to clean it up when we "re-open"

oh the horror, some kids skateboarding and riding bikes! wtf have we become??? target is still open, and people are packed in.... home depot etc, but god forbid some people go to a park. Stabucks is still open, and last I checked, gourmet coffee shouldn't be "essential"

the level of retardation we have come to is unprecedented

and wtf is going with complete disregard for tax payer money?? does nobody in Washington, state level / city level have a fiduciary duty to the tax payers???????

Thats a good idea. Give a huge middle finger to skaters. What could possibly go wrong.

Also, a LOT of parks were funded by private and donated money. a LOT!
Also a big fuck you to the people that helped build these.

Also also. They will need to shovel it out. Any machine with a bucket will distroy the surface .

Vacuum truck maybe, at $300 a hour with tax payer money.

Skateboarding is not a crime

Thank God Gavin (and CA taxpayers) are providing hotel rooms for these newly freed citizens to live in while actively seeking gainful employ.

Thanks for rubbing salt in my wounds. Appreciate it[emoji33]. [emoji3525][emoji849]

We were getting 14 tons in a 10 wheeler sometimes 15 tons. With super 10s I would see anywhere from 16 to 20 tons.

37 tons isn't that much and shouldn't take more than a day to clean with 3 guys. 2 guys can shovel and wheelbarrow 10 tons 75 feet in less than 90 minutes. 2 guys can shovel 12 tons of asphalt out of a truck in 2 hours.

this will be CA government employees. They are not that efficient.
It will take weeks and at least 6-8 supervisors and inspections before it is put back to normal, at a cost of 10-20 times what it cost to build

This will be so far down the list of thing for them to do it will probably be the skaters themselves cleaning it out.

The comments were epic. So many sheep whining about stay at home or we’ll all die and others going for the shame. If only the sheep knew the near zero percentage of infected in the city. 40 cases with 68,000 residents. People don’t do math any more. Amazing.

edit: it looks like with a 2% mortality rate, .00116% of the city could die, which is .8 of a person. When the actual mortality rate finally surfaces, it will most likely be .2 of a person or thereabouts. Regardless, is it worth shit like this???!!! But it will put a thousand or two thousand out of work, for God knows how long. Fuck.

Awesome, the state just made the worlds biggest litter box for the homeless. They will use that as one giant bathroom. SUPER!

Just saw a video of a guy riding the sandbox skate park on a dirt bike. And then saw skaters shoveling out all the city’s mess so they could skate again
