…I didn’t look today as there is a grammer school about 500 ft from my house… but what I have noticed is …that since LAUSD has started in classroom teaching again..,There are not anywhere near as many grammar school kids… Or grammar school parents picking up their kids…as there were pre pandemic???Dunno???…
… this is the same grammar school that I began kindergarden in 1950…My kindergarten classroom looks exactly as it did in 1950???…

Didn’t you leave California?

This isn’t about a mask, which is stupid too but, It’s about the mandate to vaccinate children.

This “mandate” is being directed by the same people who closed beaches and playgrounds while shipping Covid positive patients to convalescent homes by the hundreds where it wiped out grandma.

Two weeks to bend the curve 👍
Both my daughters are professionals and have been vaccinate
You think this is only about a mask?

Do you know about the new sex Ed curriculum?
Do you know about critical race theory?
Do you know about boys being allowed in the girls restrooms and locker rooms?
Do you realize the vaccine will be a requirement for kids as soon as it is pushed through FDA approval?
Do you know masks don’t do shit in the first place?
Why is it you can go to diner and sit at a table and eat without a mask but kids can’t sit at their school desk without a mask. Does covid not exist in restaurants?

This sit out is to teach kids that just because someone makes a rule does not mean it’s right. It’s to show we are fed up with the school system not putting our kids first.

My oldest has had straight A’s for 2 years straights. Yet her placement test for our home school program placed her 2yrs behind.

Parents are tired of putting up with all of the bullshit that is being pushed on our children. The mask is simply the straw that broke the camels back.

You mentioned you belong to a private school. That’s great, so people who can’t afford private school should just put up with whatever public school shoved down our throat?

If you don’t like the rules leave? We did, my middle kid is doing amazing.
My oldest is struggling because she is so far behind. But she is making progress and realizes her previous teachers did her no favors buy giving grades she didn’t deserve.

We all have choices where to send our kids to school. We sent our daughters and now grand kids to private school.

Then send your kids to Mater Dei.. Most people can afford private school but elect to spend their money in other areas.

What makes them

We all have choices where to send our kids to school. We sent our daughters and now grand kids to private school.

Then send your kids to Mater Dei.. Most people can afford private school but elect to spend their money in other areas.

Right and Wrong is not about who is a professional and who isn’t. It’s not about who can afford to send kids to private school and who can’t.

We are becoming less American everyday.
By saying my neighbors problem is not my problem because I have the means to avoid it says allot about a man.

Don’t turn this into something that it isn’t. It all depends on how you define “neighbors”. There is a laundry list of other people’s problems that we as Americans dismiss as problems because we have the means to avoid it. That has literally been the American way of life for the last 80 years or so.

No I’m just suggesting you take a wider perspective. And I was just telling you, you were wrong, just like you were telling TCHB he was wrong.

You should be able to see how that works from your glass house. Put the rock down now.

My daughter went to Marina HS and my son goes to Huntington Beach. My son goes there because its a big time baseball school and he is getting offers now. HS softball sucks and few people care about it. That being said, spending however many thousands of dollars more to go to Mater Dei, OLU, J Serra, whatever isnt going to happen. Math at a private school is not different. Same with history, chemistry, etc. I could afford it but I wont do it. Plus, we beat them anyway. ;)

My 80K savings can be spent going to their future 529 account for college. My daughter is playing D1 softball on a scholarship and is doing just fine in math and chemistry in her first semester.

It is around $17k today. Just walk on campus for one hour and you will be sold. Look at the college graduation rate for all students not just the AP students.. When my daughter went to law school after UCLA she always said Mater Dei really helped her get through the heavy academic load.

Man.... must be nice on that ivory tower there.

By your logic then "Rules for thee and not for me" is a perfectly acceptable justification when one has the money to fall into the "me" catagory.

Oh, and btw, the vaccine mandates (previous and new) apply to ALL schools on California both public and private.

Yes.

Conversely, it sounds about like the new truck, RV or boat (or any combination thereof) payment everyone signs up for these days though.

That said I'm on the HBCraig plan for now. The public schools are pretty good where I am at.

Don’t know the full title. But it’s extra help in school. Like special education.
IEP. Individual Education Plan.

I've got an IEP ready for Screwsom.
And my Teaching Credential's still good.

Pulled both my high school aged kids yesterday. Our school is pretty conservative and fought hard to get kids back in school last year. Unfortunately the district isn’t equally conservative. Initially we weren’t sure if it was worth pulling the kids or if it really even mattered, but at some point we have to do/try something to affect change.

Topic of Convo Sunday night, Dinner @ Leatherneck Dave's Crabbycakes Kennel.

More importantly, acute observation skill is more valuable than education. Knowledge is power.

But a Kid at 3 years old who gets that Mom and Dad are busting ass at Work and Home to provide for all the Kid has, and what little the Family has, Is precious knowledge to posses, at the early age of 3.

And to realize all that, in an instant, using that knowledge to provide the fiercest motivation for a 3 year old to fight off a 9 year old Bully, for his little red wagon?

That is an important some of what it will take to survive.

NOT CRT, LBGTQ, NWO, COVID CRAP COMMIE CALI SCHOOLS SCREWSOM BIDEN BS.

Fight Back. Somehow. Lets GO Brandon!

Nobody is looking down on your hard work and success. However you are looking down on us that have not been able to have that level of success to be able to afford such things.

Its a pretty messed up elitist attitude to suggest that one can just buy their way out of something they don't like. I remember a certain Queen saying something similar in regards to cake as well....

This thread makes me really glad I don't have kids.

Of course pretty much all of you had kids before all of this bullshit started, but I cannot for the life of me understand why anybody would purposely subject themselves to these kinds of headaches by having a kid now.

Life is just so much easier and peaceful.

I didn't have kids til the wife and were 33. We waited til we thought we were ready. Having kids is definitely a strain on your money and marriage at times. I can't speak for everyone here but I can tell you that when my kids succeed at anything like school, sports, etc there is no greater feeling of pride. Also, when I see my son open doors for women and the elderly, give a real handshake when meeting someone and being a good person it is also a tremendous feeling of pride.

If you are determined and hard working anyone can have great success. With success you many more options in life. Thats the way it works in ant country. If you can not afford certain things go out work harder and stop complying about others up on the hill.

Your proving @Flying_Lavey point with statements like above.

The private schools within 20 minutes of my house, don’t offer the speech and language special education courses that my daughter needs. We either pay $200 an hour or she sees the same Dr at the public school 4 blocks from my house.

Using your logic I should just work harder so I can afford private school and 1k a week in dr bills.

Only thing you don’t get back in life is time with your family. When my dad retired, he finally admitted he F’d up and worried too much about his career and money and not enough time worrying about spending time with his kids. Since that day, I stopped working as much as I used to and made a decision to trade salary for time with my kids while they are growing up. Best decision I made!

You have to do what you think is right. I was my daughters softball coach for 10 years. I always felt it was our jobs as parents was to educate them and give them a strong work ethic so they could have a life full of opportunities. If we failed they would struggle the rest of their lives with low level jobs that pay very little. I am retired now and see my daughters all the time. I wish you all the best with your kids.

Why does a Dr who can charge 200 dollars a hour work for the public school system ? Or i guess maybe the people who pay for the school system should be asking how much of there tax money goes to him !

it’s a smart business decision. she works 3 hours at the school 3 times a week. Most of the kids that see her at school go to her practice as well. our daughter spends time with her during winter break and summers.

I can’t imagine not having kids, I’d do it again today under these circumstances as what’s going on today would have absolutely nothing to do with my decision. From birth to adulthood and your kids getting off on their own is literally a blip in time in your life. It’s over quick, ask any parent.

It’s impossible to explain to someone who doesn’t have kids what it’s like to have them. It can’t be explained really. They’ve done studies on people at the end of their life who had kids and those that didn’t. The conclusion was that those that had kids looked back on a much more fulfilled life than those that didn’t. People will never stop having kids no matter what is going on in the world. It’s in our DNA and will be as long as human beings walk this earth.

When I was a kid, I did not want kids, I wanted material items. When we had kids things started changing. When I matured I realized the time with them was limited and made a bigger effort to be present. Today, I wish we had a couple more of them. I don't remember much of the stuff, but I do the times with the kids.

If I had school kids today, (afforded my experience) We would be homeschooling. We would make the sacrifice.

My spitball curriculum:
Math and Language highest priority. Multi-language and Sign.
Penmanship/ Typing
Science / Health / Home Economics
History/political science/ constitution (Teach them how to research and understand how history can be a tool.)
Finance / Economics Macro and Micro
For PE I would have them in Martial Arts and make them Run.
Shop class.

We raised our kids without TV and we think that helped, but we could have done more.
I have a family of teachers that could help with this pipe dream but have suggested that our daughter home school our grandkid.

The board meeting is going on as we speak. There are some native American Indians want her fired and they are actually threatening physical harm to her if they don’t. They went on that the white people stole their land from them in 1492, injected them with all kinds of chemicals and on and on and on. I guess the teachers been doing it for about 10+ years.
