Done that trip too many times to count. Flying through Hawaii beats going through Japan. I did Detroit to Narita once, and had a 3 hour mechanical delay issue after boarding. Ended up being on the plane for over 18 hours. Still had another 3 hour flight back to Guam after we landed in Japan.
Don’t know how anyone does this more than once. Holy shit what a long day.

I had a spell when I did a lot of around the world stuff.

I kind of liked the lost on space feeling I would get.

😊
Guessing I’ll have a little bit of that this week. Not looking forward to the jet lag. I am looking forward to getting to the hotel

What requires the need to go to Guam? I have a buddy that’s there for work right now.
It’s been part of my area for 9ish years. I’ve somehow avoided it until now. Drew the short straw.

Guam 2023 is a wrap. @sirbob is spot on. Kinda lost in space, hazy feeling all week. Took off Monday from Ontario at 8:45am landed Tuesday at 6pm. Heading to Oahu this morning. Left at 7am Thursday and getting back to Oahu at 6pm Wednesday. Don’t think i slept more than 3 hours at a clip. Been pretty surreal.

Heading to work a day on Oahu and then finish in Maui. Home at 9pm Friday night…

That’s a lot of water😬
IMG_0136.jpeg

Yesterday’s lunch. Fried chicken, red rice, egg,
Spinach thing and spicy gravy. Kinda chicken fried steak but better.
IMG_0126.jpeg

Apps: Fried avocado and titiyas/shrimp dip. Titiyas are like flour tortilla chips. Pretty good.

I used to love those long haul flights - A movie and a bottle of French red...

And it looks you had food that's the same stuff we do, but must of had some interesting flavors!

Yeah, not much different really. Just a different spin. The way it was explained it to me is that it’s a combination of Filipino/Spanish with an island flair.
The flight attendant(s) are a bit slower on the flight back. Funny, pretty sure one of them is the same. 😁

Last day in town. Out at noon tomorrow. Kinda love this place, then again 🤔

Got back at a decent hour.

Storm cleared pretty much everyone out.

Quiet ending

At least your trip is ending at a decent location when meetings are over.
The last two weeks, I have had Atlanta and Detroit.
The next 5 weeks are; Vegas, Maryland, Vegas, Pittsburg, Rhode Island.

Only thing that I will see is multiple Delta Sky Clubs.

Up in the air again.
- San Jose tonight then home tomorrow late morning. Customer dinner then 730am demo tomorrow

- Phoenix next Tuesday night, demo Wednesday morning and afternoon, than home Wednesday night

Looks like my travel slows down come Oct 30th - BUT I am 6 night away from making Platinum for Life @ Marriott. I will need to find some extra trips. Currently have 9 years and over 800 nights, but need 10 years of 50 or more nights to get lifetime.

Where are you staying? Off Canal street?

It’s a good time, good music and the food is amazing.

Just be carful walking at night on side streets.

And don’t go into bars/clubs past the concrete post on bourbon st. They start to fly the colorful flag.

I was staying in Harvey, LA because the refinery is right near there. I never even got the chance to hit Bourbon St. I was able to get the instrument up and running on Tuesday so flew back to PHX on Wednesday. Woohoo 4 day weekend

Dallas tonight. Land at 6pm, customer meeting tomorrow 8-4, then back on the flying bus home to SD.
Only 80 people on the flight. Was nice having no one in the middle seat.

Friday am - back to Vegas with wife and daughter. Customer meetings Friday afternoon, but then taking my daughter to AJR & Imagine Dragons Saturday at SEMA Fest.

Next week, I am home for the week, but leave Thursday to go camping and off-roading.

Week of the 13th, PHX for a day. Then I am done until after Thanksgiving. But then it is crazy until Dec 15.

You and me both tonight in Dallas. I’m flying from Orange County though.

Have a safe flight bud.

Just landed and have call from customer, main POV is out sick - meeting cancelled. First time this has occurred in 10 years

Going to my hotel and will decide when I fly home tomorrow.

Uptown area of Downtown. Customer office is across street from hotel. Most likely work tonight now and fly home early am, so I can get home and watch my kids volleyball match.

IMG_5554.jpeg IMG_5555.jpeg Heading out to work a show in Seville, Spain. Rode my KTM to LAX for my trip. Motorcycles park for free at LAX in the short term parking lots across from the terminals. Even though I don’t pay for my parking I’d rather ride than expense it and wait forever to be reimbursed. Today it’s LA to Philly to Madrid to Seville, with camera gear, what could possibly go wrong?

I would be more worried about eating lox in a airport lounge vs loosing any camera gear...... Safe Travels....

LA, San Diego and Phoenix this week. It’s crazy how all 3 have their really good and really bad areas. Hit Marina Del Rey, Carlsbad and Scottsdale. Great spots to grab a drink and hang out. Also visited downtown LA/Phoenix and Sports Arena in SD. All 3 sketchy as hell.
Good news, Havasu in an hour.

I stayed at the Hilton Cassara property. It was pretty nice. They have a Karl Strauss in the parking lot that wasn’t too bad. Decent bar in the hotel. I usually stay in gas lamp. Gonna definitely switch it up and mix that place in.

Quick, five day business trip to Kawaii what a better spot to be. Plan on expanding our distribution to the islands, especially Maui during the rebuild.

Extruded, aluminum patio cover material and fencing material. We already sold to Oahu, and will making inroads to Maui as they develop suppliers for the rebuild. The supply side to the islands is very limited. We’re actually a mill direct company we don’t buy anything from distributors it’s manufactured direct.

Often times when I’m out of town, a group of coworkers will go out to dinner. Many times (like last night) someone will speak up and tell everyone that they will just order all the food and we can all just share. I really hate this as I never get what I want, and last night I only liked one dish that was ordered and got two scoops of it, and left hungry, then we split the bill.. Once at an Indian restaurant a while back I decided to take matters into my own hands, I ordered a chicken Korma dish all for myself, it was amazing, but the dickhead that ordered a bunch of food for everyone called me out for it.

How do you guys deal with these situations?

Just explain what you just wrote to the group. If they don't like it then too bad. Order and pay for your own meal.

Pull the dickhead move and order my own. A bit harder to do with my boss. 😬. I’m with you. Hate the group order thing. Order appetizers for the table, order desserts for the table.. Leave the dinner to each person.

I’m in San Diego this week and sylmar to finish the year. Off to Utah first of the year for 2 weeks. I dont mind traveling a little as long as I don’t miss any of my kids baseball games. Boss let me leave San Diego early yesterday so I could make Eli’s tournament game. We lost and got knocked out but I’ve never been so proud of that kid. That’s how I negotiate now a days they can keep their moneys and I’ll deal with being tired. I’m in the hotel now and think it’s bedtime 😂
