What a fucking circus. I sent an email to my clients about a month and half ago and most of them already got it done but a few have not I'm sure.

Somehow I'll get blamed for this lol.
Now the site will go down and the circus will be even worse.

How long did it take to do it? What kind of information do you need readily available to complete it?

It didn't take too long. 30 minutes maybe, and that included looking up a couple of the questions which seemed a little curious. The main thing you need is the owners name and home address, as well as a copy of his/her drivers license.

If you have a holding company, be sure to do that as well. We never use ours and I forgot about it. Then I met our auditor for lunch and he mentioned that the holding company is probably more important to them than the operating company. After lunch I just filed the same info again for the holding company, so they now have both.

I used the online form to submit the info on the FinCen website, rather than the PDF download upload method. I couldn't download the PDF - it wanted some newer version of Adobe Acrobat or something. The owner wanted to review first, so I copy pasted each page into an email without hitting the final Submit button. Once he looked it over, I reentered everything again and hit Submit.

This pretty much sums it up. Easy.

Next time try saving the file to one drive if you use it

Interesting, I just had a call from our son. He was all set up to file the other day. Upon reading it was his opinion that it was delayed. He was going to reach out to our CPA in Hawaii to verify. As for our business I’d like to know if this is really required or not?
