Pricing for a charge would of course include a "you have no other option but a tow truck" fee . . .
I bet you could make some money on this. At least, until somebody installs an actual EV charger somewhere along that corridor between Barstow and Needles

You’d need to be charging $250-300 a charge to make it pencil.

Now if a tow truck is 2-3 hours away I’m sure people would pay. This unit is probably getting you 90-100 miles per hour of charge.

You laugh but I could see the market lol. Imagine the family of 4 in a luxury EV. Middle of the desert with 2 car seats and a pissed off wife. Swipe the AMEX and let’s do this! You could probably turn a pretty big alternator(s) on a tow truck too.

I see the market, I just don't have the funding. A larger truck could run an APU, to run a cabin HVAC system, in a small "condo" converted into a lounge. The same APU could power an entertainment system, and do some charging duty.

I think this only pencils for a brick and motor location that is trying to add revenue. Basically a gas station that doesn’t want to invest in permanent EV chargers. A middle of nowhere restaurant could be another.

You need instantaneous availability to the consumer. If they have to wait for you to arrive they’re already eating into the time AAA had to respond.

Then again there’s very little available in Havasu so you could do ok there. Or go full tilt in a place like Newport, Malibu, Beverly Hills etc and charge $500.
