It's just came out of the mold and is going together now. Power will be a pair of 300XS's. Going to be one trick piece!!

Wow!! This is GOING TO BE AWESOME!!

Your 22 Daytona was one of my favorite boats of all time! I loved the pics / vids, and long range running that you were posting as well! Hope to see a lot of that with the SS!

Nice build Paul. You are in good hands with Thane and John. 28SS is my favorite boat in that size.

I hear that you may be leaving Bullhead and heading to Havasu? If so will miss watching your fly byes at our beach in Willow Valley. Its been fun to watch all your different boats go by over the years!

I already did the move. Sold the house in bullhead and bought a new place in Havasu.

And no worries you will NOT be missing the flybys I will just start in the other direction I'll going north to south instead of south to north.

Congrats on the move and new boat!

One of these days we will hook up on the water and make the run together, will be hard to hang with you in and out of the turns but I can have fun trying to catch up in the straights.....

Very cool thread! Can you elaborate on the build process using the 2 deck pieces vs a typical 1 piece deck? Does the deck come out of the mold in one piece then get cut or are they laid up separately? It looks like the transom bustle is a complex area especially with the cutout sections for outboards. Seems like a lot of labor to blend everything together especially if capping.

It is a TON of work to do! Especially on the first one. We did the whole job with the stern drive deck and just inserted the hull to get the full flat transom. Not really thinking we would do more of them, we just did it all after the fact. After selling another one and having to do all the same work again we decided to pull a mold off the rear section after it had been modified so if we sold another one we had the deck section already mostly done. So in other words we now build the outboard version deck out of 2 separate molds then we will glass and repair the seam where the 2 parts come together.

There are a couple out there running 1200HP + at or close to 150MPH.

I have not seen one with a #6 just the one with a NXT, Buck,s is the only one bouncing over 150 w a SCX-4

I've got a Nordic 28SS with the 700SCI / NXT Package (Stage 3 Whipple Upgrade) and love the boat and the set-up.
Thane, Johnny and the Nordic Crew are top notch and build a great product.
Keep up the good work guys.................

Just a question. How come you didn't cut the slot for the wing plate before painting?

I love the boat and graphics, Paul really knows what he likes.

There is no "SLOT" for the wing plate. What needs to be cut is cut before it went to paint.

It may need it when it's fully loaded with fuel, people and gear. I'm really curious to see how well it works, I may want to add one on my boat.

Boat looks fantastic!

Are there any plans of building one with the new 400s? What is the weight difference between the 300XS and the 400?

Did you keep the spec's so you can make me one?

Is strictly on me....boat works well without it but when it's 115 degrees and fully loaded it will make it easy to pull large props and jump on plane.
Also there's the aerodynamic factor being able to compress air as it leaves the tunnel...( Boring Pilot shit :D )

That's exactly why I want/need one. Cooler temps or lighter load I'm on plane in about 8 seconds at the most. 115 and loaded I sometimes have to move people to the bow to get on plane.

My SS with a 32 light load up here in elevation I can get up. 4 plus people I almost have to have a 30 P on.

My 22 Daytona had a 12 inch tap on it. When I made the new tab I increased the size substantially and now that boat comes on plane with full fuel at three-quarter throttle in about a second.
With 34 pitch bravos !!!

IT WORKS !

And that boat holds 116 gallons of fuel.
