Hey Everyone, this is a great interview with Tuff Marine founder Mark Weigl. He shares some insight into his designs and talks about a potential new model. Their latest 24 goes 98 MPH with a stock Evinrude 250 HO and 109 MPH with an Ilmor 570. The 28 did a run at LOTO last year, 117 MPH with an Ilmor 725. No BS, those are documented numbers. They build a 28, 24, 21 and one of the coolest 16s ever. I love these boats.

I think they start around $22K but can get up, the popular motor is the Mercury Racing 60, Livorsi gauges, custom hatch, hot foot throttle. Probably close to $26 or $27 with those options.

I know a few guys that have more than that into their mini's :D

Allison still holds the records for outboards...check the apba.
The new 23 is fucking unreal and can't hardly wait. The XR does closer to 130mph. NOt bad for a 20ft vhull outboard with only 153ci
The Tuff is a great boat though and almost right there with Allison.
Here is their Bass Boat record

Stock no NOS?
I'm sure the 130mph Allisons are on a couple shots of N20 and a shot of Meth for cool down.
Tuff is made out of Balsa wood....Not sure what their transom is made out of but I suspect wood. Allison is 100% ZERO wood anywhere in the boat and built to last a lifetime. More expensive but worth it.

The newer Tuffs are all composite (PVC foam core) depending. Some are all carbon fiber. It's hard to compare the Allison as it is much smaller than the 24, but I don't think there is any other 24 that does 98 MPH with a stock Evinrude and full seating. It would be at 110 MPH with a 300 XS.

The 16 was rigged with a tuned 150 for fun and it hit 90 GPS.

Are the numbers put up at loto are of the carbon fiber lineage? I still can't find anything about their transoms?
