There is no cooler lol.
But they do have a "lift pump" setup, don't they? Can't remember if both the 5k's and the 10k's, but one of them had what looked to be an Onan style little pump.

The 20k units I mess with run Kubota V1305's. They run an electric lift pump from the tank, and the return tees back into injector pump feed. The lift pump is the equivalent to a Holley "Black". In Phoenix temps, 13+hrs straight, but from a big external tank assembly located aft of the axle on M2 chassis.

They have 24 volt lift pump in-line to the injection pump. There is a primary pump and aux pump for the two circuits. I’ve never seen a 20k gen set. 3/5/15/30/60/100. But never a 20 and never anything with a kubota.

We run 10ks 24 hours a day 7 days a week till then need a LOF. They don’t care at all about temp in southern az summers.

That's good to know. Do those units have the lift pump that has the internal filter?

It’s been awhile since I updated this thread. The vast majority of fab work since then has gone into places you can’t see.. the belly of the beast so to speak but there is a ton of thought that went into everything which I’ll talk about next.

In the meantime after thinking about it we didn’t want just exposed fuel fills because this thing holds a shit ton of fuel.. and it’s just better to protect everything.

So Eric fabbed up locking fuel doors. There are three of them on the truck.

All of the fuel doors are finished and tanks installed.. panels going to paint next week! :)

The last pic is the billet drop through for the cabinets. Not accessible from the outside.

I’d like to put cameras on the top of the screen cage so that we have a. 360 degree view of the truck when it isn’t attended. Anyone got any good ideas?

i figure a hotspot for WiFi will work for internet to see the video etc..

So most of what’s going on now is stuff you’d never see or realize how much time goes into.. lots of stuff happening underneath the truck etc..

However the fuel tanks are out of the truck right now and getting the filler necks and fittings installed so I grabbed some pics of those today.

Half the panels are already out for paint.
New bumper
New headlights
New mirrors
New carpet kit
New marker lights all showed up today.

It’s interesting to see how people react to it when they see it in person. Every single person that has stopped by the shop
That owns a biz in town said “I want to advertise on this.” So I’m thinking the gamble will pay off in the end.

I don’t think this has a return line.. point in fact I’m almost positive it doesn’t

The internal tank functions as a “day tank” when it gets low it uses the external tank line to fill up the internal tank. The internal tank does have a supply and return, but to hook up an external only one line is needed. They have no problem running in heat. They have 2 electronic fuel pumps, one for the engine, and one for the external tank to draw fuel in to the internal tank. The knob you use turn it on you’ll notice one of the positions says aux fuel. The aux fuel line hookup is the small AN fitting next to the fuel cap.

Install a Starlink and cameras. If the truck screens are WiFi enabled, you can update content from the home office.

This thing is really bad ass. Just like all your shit. Is it too nice to leave parked on the side of the road though?

I'm thinking this thing is gonna draw tweakers like a giant rolling led screen in the desert.

They screens aren’t but ultimately what is on the screens is determined by a laptop.. I suppose if the laptop if hooked to WiFi and had remote access installed you could do it that way?

You can control the laptop that way, but how do you turn on and off the screen? Or the generator?

I wouldn’t.. I’d just control the content on the screen.. even then I would think it would just be flipping from one loop to another or something basic.

I don’t need to turn the screen or generator off. I plan to park the truck in the early am and bring home in the later pm. The longest I’d ever leave it in a spot in havasu would be 48hrs do to ordinances..

It will run all day no problem.. point in fact it could run for about seven days non stop with the amount of fuel we have on board.

You just need some home automation for shutdowns. Could do startups as well, but if I owned it, I would want someone there for the genset startups.

I'd look at the cameras Tesla uses, they survive the heat in a black car

Check these out, I have about 20 of them in various places. Cloud storage, inexpensive, these are battery powered and last a long time in a normal environment. They have a solar panel, but with having power, you could have these when the genset is off and the other ones when running. Wifi, etc.

What are the camera's for? If real time monitoring then you will need internet. If no internet then you might want a CCTV setup where it records to something on the truck and you download it later.

Do you want to be able to view them remotely when the truck is on site?

If so you’re gonna need a hotspot/router of some sorts.

Ring/Nest Cameras run on doorbell transformers, 120v or battery packs. Batteries are great until you’re having to remember to charge them all the time.

Reolink is the homeowner grade camera system that works pretty good for what it is.

HIK vision is the legit commercial grade stuff.

The truck will have internet.. It also has 110 or 12 volt as options for power.

Since you’re already this far into it. Why not get Starlink and offer WiFi access as part of the package. You’d use it to run camera access. But for a desert/remote event you’d give the customer high speed Internet.

Im assuming this won’t leave havasu

I don't think those will work with the winds while driving etc.. They are kind of a point and shoot (which is easily moved) and then they attach to the base with a magnet. Works well for buildings and stationary objects but driving around might be problematic.

I‘d potentially be looking at a couple fisheye cameras that record locally. Having one on each side would give you 360 visibility and also let you see the screens to ensure the correct Content is playing.

Local recording so if you have an Internet issue, you’re still getting your footage saved.

The truck will have internet. I haven't decided if it's starlink or a hotspot yet, but it will have internet 100%. As said above (and in the thread prior)

I would assume you'd be able to record locally as well as view on the internet? Understanding the application and knowing that I want to put these on the truck.. got any suggestions? We have power 110 or 12 volt. Internet won't be a problem, nor is powering and storing a recording device if needed.

Also allows you to stream movies, YouTube etc and have the internet hardware and write off from the irs.

I have starlink on my motorhome

I like the Geovision cameras for this type of application. Pretty rugged, good price (not cheap) but should do what you need. There’s tons of other options but this is what we use for standalone commercial camera systems.

Yes, recording locally but viewable remote.

I’m just not sure where I’d put that.. it isn’t like we have a ton of room on the sides of the screen. What is the diameter? True 180 degrees?

360* horizontally and ~170* vertically. So basically it Can see everything below itself

A small arm painted black holding it out over/past the screen on each side wouldn’t be bad but not sure how much you care about visibility for the camera(s) vs aesthetics of camera placement. Also kinda depends on what you’re trying to capture with the cameras.

Just a 360 degree view of the truck in case someone tries to steal it or vandalizes it etc..

I'm almost wondering if two "fisheye" pen style cameras out the side of the bed or the truck or up 1/2 way up on the sides of the screen would be best. On one hand I want people to see the cameras so they don't fuck with the truck.. on the other Eric has spent so much time keeping it clean I'd like to keep the look.

If they make something that's just an eye that I can poke through the frame of the LED screen I could put two on each side and one front and back for a total of six and complete coverage.

That was one of the rental incomes as well as personal for us
Yeah I knew that but I don’t recall hearing you say starlink

You can get cameras that pan and tilt so two cameras can cover the whole area.

The only issue with a motorized PTZ is that you end up looking in the wrong direction a lot of the time. PTZ is good if you need to remotely zoom in on stuff when live monitoring but not so good for viewing afterward (even with object tracking). A fisheye let’s you do a virtual PTZ from recorded video. Just different use cases (I love PTZ’s btw :))

They offer a pinhole - https://dlcdn.geovision.com.tw/Manual/IPCAM/Datasheet/Pinhole/Datasheet_IPCam_GV-GPH2800.pdf

Not a 360 and I don’t have personal experience with that camera though.

Do ya know what I'm talking about? Basically a fish eye that we can run through the aluminum (we have ample room on the backside for whatever we need) and maybe one on the front facing forward 2 on each side and one on the back..

I just don't know where I'd find that..

I just contacted Wyse and there is a threaded insert in the center of the camera base. If you haven't tried this product, it is great. Company started by a few Amazon guys. Have 5 of these in a place we haven't been to in 2 years. They work flawlessly. Internet goes out, they reconnect. Power goes out, they reconnect. The indoor ones are $36 and are great. Caught a friend of the neighbor at our condo peeing on a tree. Sent her the video, we all got a good laugh out of it.

I know what you’re talking about but I don’t know of anyone that has them that are ”panel” mounted. You could mount the ones I originally posted vertically but the problem you’d run into is the lens getting dirty (They are really designed to be mounted horizontally).

🤷‍♂️

In the center of the camera base isn’t the problem. It’s the hinge and rotating assembly to aim it. I’m not sure they will stay where you aim them on a truck that rides like a dump truck..

Then ya have real deal wind driving down the road etc?

I have the indoor ones and I think they’d move.. maybe they up the drag on the hinges on the outdoor ones? Or I guess maybe once we get it aimed I could superglue everything to make it rigid?
