Verizon charges the following (assurion) insurance rates:

Droid Deductible $99 at 6.99 mo
iPhone4S $169 at 9.99 mo
Tablet $149 at 9.99 mo

Better break it right away or it's not worth it.

I guess I am different, it all depends on how old your oldest daughter is? Does she have a job, has she broken her phone before? If she is 17 or older with a job and has broken a phone before then the bill is on her. I know was not her fault but it wast yours either. Its a good and cheap leason for her to learn, which is: Even if its not your fault you still sometimes have to pay for it.

Having a $500.00 phone is a privilage by any standard for anyone. Need to be more careful. The fact that you bought it for her was enough.

And yes I am a father, but not to a Daughter.

To answer your questions... She is not 17 (not even in High School), doesn't have a job, hasn't broken anything of hers in the past, and gets great grades. She cares for everything as if she saved and bought with her own money.

So I took the phone to the Apple Store and they won't replace the screen on the iPhone 4. They want to exchange it for a refurb phone for $149. Went to a reputable phone store that was just up the street and they want $99 to replace the screen.

The Apple Store said they don't recommend replacing the screen on the 4 or 4S. I thing it is BS that I can replace the phone for less than the deductible on the phone insurance.

I'm going to scan the iPhone repair ads on CL.
