Congrats to Jody and Candy over at Conquest. It's been a long time since they introduced a new model. The mold is done, getting waxed and soon will give birth to the first Bosscat 28.
They are calling it Bosscat 28, because they stretched the TopCat II/Bosscat bottom 2 feet to make it a true 28. Twin Stepped, and notched. Full wrap around windshield. This bottom and this top are going to strictly be an twin outboard combination. The first boat will be built with the new 300r's. Its an in house build, not for a customer. I'm sure at some point it will be for sale however. They were trying to make the Havasu boat show, hopefully they have something ready even if it's not finished.
Now if you wanted a single, with this deck, the top will fit on the existing TopCat 2, Bosscat bottom, with a swim step (instead of the flat transom for outboards), and basically it's the Bosscat with an updated top and wrap around windshield.
The TopCat II is a proven performer and I'm sure this will be a great boat also.
Kornowski Customs in Havasu built the mold.
One other thing I will mention, this is a sit down boat, no cabin. The helm is identical on both sides so that is can be built with port or starboard controls.
I asked what happens to the plug, which is the white boat in the pics, I guess it ends up in the dump. It's basically a huge pile of plywood and bondo.
Anyhow here are some pics of the mold, and the plug. Enjoy!!
