Thinking about going with a bigger boosted motor for my Daytona if someone is interested in this one. Had Barry (Obnoxious racing engines) build me a balanced, solid roller 489 with 4 bolt main, and picked it up few weeks ago. It has not been fired up, and his conservative estimate is 7-725 HP at 6500 RPM. Complete list of parts and specs are below, also has 2 660 center squirter Holleys that were just completely redone by C&J Engineering sitting on top of a freshly polished Victor ram. Have the ignition for it as well, Ready to run MSD, Coil and wires, it was gonna go in my Daytona so it has a black powder coated 10 QT Dooley pan. Will need carb linkage for the Holleys but It is basically ready to drop in and fire up. 14K as it sits, located in Vegas.

I have a guy who wants one of my engines really badly, but I told him honestly that was the wrong cam for an outdrive setup.

What a solid deal that is there. Those heads are a great choice for that build. The intake port flow velocity will really make that moter rev quick and make excellent power. That engine will make a smaller boat very quick to 100mph and bigger boat 20/21' get up and go quickly while pulling hard all the way to top speed.... I'd guess into the 80's readily. Barry builds a great engine that makes
long lasting and very durable, reliable power. This is an all win for the buyer.

Thanks, I had this motor built based on Barry's reputation alone. 👍

Bump, looking at some property up in Utah and could use the cash. I will sell it without the headers, scoop, intake and carbs if someone is looking for a long block.

What is the long block price? My step dad might be interested...

Less than what he has in it, I can honestly tell you that. Besides what he spent with me he also provided the powder coated oil pan and new valve covers.
I am thinking about picking this up to throw in the Spectra? Then bring you the tall deck to build? Thoughts?

This one should make some power, for sure. I would be happy to do something with the tall deck when you are ready.
