Meadview is an awesome area. I bought a couple lots of land out there, 12 years ago, knowing this day was coming. I am hoping they go up in value, with the new bridge open. I only paid $8000.00 for 2) 1/2 acre lots. I see this area building up, since the bridge will make a lot easier access. Keep you fingers crossed!!:D

Yep they did a soft opening last night around midnight, saw a few rigs go over it....was storming like crazy and lightening til 730am....not that much traffic noise yet...2200+ big rigs a day will now be passing over it and roughly 17-20k vehicles a day...there goes the neighborhood...:thumbsdown

During our Media tour of the bridge about a month or so ago...it is supposed to cut out about 75 miles from Phoenix to Vegas which should be a good thing for the economy and fuel savings for rigs, deliveries and tourists but it is going to be hell on BC....someday when they get the 750 million they will build the bypass through the mountains avoiding BC and cutting from the bridge to the 95 where it meets 93/95 by railroad pass but that day is far from now...

We know BC police are going to be swamped (and BC will be loving the revenue that is for sure)....They love giving speeding tickets for anything over 3mph and from what I heard from PD friends they are going to keep their zero tolerance for speeder program full force as they have always done....big tickets to the truckers if they get caught "jake braking" from 6pm to 6am so that may help a little...but the other traffic is going to be a mess...imo

thats the way it always was before 9/11...

I don't think it'll be that bad , you won't have to slow to 15 mph ..

you won't have to stop at the check,,,

how was it today???

It's going to be the stoplight up town between Vons and Albertsons that will be the cluster fuck, it's already been backing up in all directions and this is before the bridge has even opened

We did, I went all the way across a month or so ago by foot and
We drove across it last night at around 7pm...very cool.....will cut down on the trip to az by at about 15-20 minutes on a slow traffic day and can save as much as 2 hours on a busy day...gonna do a test drive to havi offramp and then to topock bridge to see the savings.........used to take 25-30 minutes longer going that route to topock bridge but should be close now....

They had a few interviews at a few AZ truck stops and most truckers or motorists were not sure they could get across yet because the soft opening and the hush hush about it....Once the word is OUT gonna be a cluster..

I would not suggest anyone taking this route yet, 55mph during the whole road widening areas (for about 20-25 miles into it), a few 55 down to 45,35 then 25mph with truckers going slow and no passing for up to 15 miles..

From Rosies down there were 2 DPS units hiding in the brush, 2 Ft. Mohave Sheriff's up and down the road and a few unmarked units looking for speeders (and more than likely narcotics traffic)...in the 65 mph area I had a gutt feeling to keep it at 65-67 GPS'ed...a car passed me slowly roughly 69-70 and a DPS unit busted the old guy and his family...so they are serious about raising revenue in this area for now...

Drove from Boulder City limits (by the hacienda casino) to the Havasu offramp in 2 hours. So from the Heart of Vegas with no traffic I would estimate taking 2.5 to 2.75 hours to get to havi from anywhere near the strip or the west side of the 15....

That said, great to have another route to go down to AZ without a ton of traffic...once they open up 2 lanes each way all the way down and back..
