I understand the CA vehicle code but based upon your boat usage and place of storage, registering your boat in AZ and your trailer in CA is insurance fraud as dictated by the insurance companies when the boat and trailer are on the same policy. The CA vehicle code contradicts AZ code and when insurance fraud is combined with this, it’s a grey area that is questionable in the court system. My case was thrown out of court. Commiefornia is just a money hungry state that doesn’t understand border towns like AZ DOT does. The AZ 25 mile code seems like a great idea with Yuma, Parker, Havasu, Bullhead, etc…..

When I first moved to AZ, my wife still worked remotely for a California based company. For 4 years California tried to say I owed CA state tax as well, even though our permanent residence was in AZ. I fought .....and won all four years. I remember reading about California trying to shake down those residents who had the boat registered in AZ for the luxury tax anyway at one time.

So I am confused by reading through this thread…

I run the risk of getting pulled over and getting a ticket on my way home in CA because my CA-registered boat trailer is trailering my AZ Registered boat?
No. They don’t care about the boat because it’s not on the highway.

Y’all are going to hate me but it’s a wakeboard boat.

I promise to empty my bags when I’m done wakeboarding.
