Thanks for the pics. Man I miss that place.

Here in TX we have these black birds that make the same sounds as the birds in Parker. “The ones you normally here in the morning when the water is glass and it’s not too hot out yet.” Brings a smile to my face thinking about all the memories there.

You referring to the Grackles ? I was sitting outside at a restaurant in Rancho Bernardo (Northern San Diego Inland) and heard one, looked over and sure enough it was a Grackle. I don't believe I've ever seen one around here before.

Jet ski house. @old rigger might have old pix with Piper cub on floats sitting out front.
Is it a Sod roof, that just got out of hand and now needs a match, goat, or weed whacker ? About one burning ember and that place will be reduced to nothing but a memory.

Just realized I typed "Parking" instead of Parker, need more coffee 🤣

Just Googled it. Yep! That’s that they look like. Very distinct sound.

For as long as I remember I would be the first one up so I’d grab a chair, walk down to the river to watch the water and listen to the sounds. I can’t think of a place that I’ve ever been more relaxed and content.

Male Grackles are fun to watch, they really like putting on a show, strutting around like a rooster and a big display of their tail plumage for the lady birds. One Grackle sounds pretty cool, about a half dozen of them, and you want to grab the shotgun. 🙉 🤣

Back in the day, driving into Parker at night, I always enjoyed smelling the river, long before it could be seen.

Not Parking Knowing --- So what's the deal with the roof begging to be lit off ?
Jacobson house. Jetski inventor. Been like that as long as I can remember. Used to stay at the red house behind it. Insulate the roof with dirt was what I recall but it's been a long time. Have to ask Clayton. He is a regular at the bars. Trying to sell shirts.

I've seen them around the lagoons in Oceanside, CA as well. Always around water.

Yeah, the water isn't cold enough to need a suit. I skied a couple of days last week without one!
Yeah, well, that's what the folks say who are frolicking in the ocean and it's 61 degrees --- Ahhhhh NOPE. 🥶

Water is 66-67 degrees measured in the shade off my dock.
