Hey guys, I just thought I would share a few pics and comments about Lake George in upstate New York which is a little better than 4 hours from my home in Pa. We took a mini vacation there and just got back last night. Lake George is about 32 miles long and 3 miles at the widest point. Very nice scenery, very wooded and mountainous terrain. Be prepared to walk or hike up and down some step hills around that place.
A small town supports the tourism industry but otherwise it’s very rural. I didn’t see any really cool boats looking mostly from the shore. We rented a boat but only for a few hours the day we were leaving. We also went out for a dinner cruise one night. Lots of pretty nice homes along the lake. Boating is very seasonal there because the lake freezes completely over in the winter.
Oh and you know how New York is a sold democrat state? Well, we did see more biden signs and flags than Trump. You know the ones I’m talking about, F**k biden, let’s go Brandon, and biden sucks😂

Beautiful lake I know it well above and below the surface of the water we've scuba dive there many times. Pretty much know every inch of the lake From the main lake at Lake George village To the Bay region and through the narrows to the North end of the lake. It used to be a very clear lake. My sister owned the Cleverdale country store in the Bay region. Biggest problem with the lake is the 45 mile an hour speed limit.

Haha I actually didn’t know there was a speed limit. 45 is pretty low and it seemed a lot of boats were going much faster. The pos I rented topped out at 40.

Went there once back in 2000 to see a guy who reproduced modern version of Garwood Wooden Boats. Can’t remember his name but older gent that had raced unlimited hydroplanes back in the day. Super neat dude good stories and pictures of him racing unlimited hydros in the 1950s.
Enjoyed myself, town had a pretty cool vibe with soft serve ice joint serving like 20 flavors. Place was always packed with a long line, in the Summer of course.

Thanks for the pics, beautiful family and beautiful part of the country! I grew up outside of Buffalo, and I know they take the Memorail Day - Labor Day summer thing pretty seriously over there! Enjoy your trip!

That would have been Bill Morgan, and he produced the modern version of Hackercraft Wooden Boats, not Garwood. Up in Silver Bay, NY.

How did you miss the Algonquin Restaurant ??? It's right there in Bolton, a little south of the Sagamore. Best restaurant on the entire lake.

Some of the best corn on the cobb that I have ever eaten, came from the Cleverdale Country Store.
