Boat Racing at Marine Stadium today

Dragon boat racing! The circle boat racing has been replaced by Dragon boat racing! I hate to say it but it’s going to be an uphill battle to get circle boats back at Marine Stadium. If Dragon boat racing is not your thing there is also the gay pride festival going on this weekend in Long Beach. I will be sorting out my sock drawer this weekend!

last weekend to go when that had Dragon boats and the place was packed, pretty big event, that why i was sure it wasn't this weekend again becuase they were setting up all week and last night parking lot was closed and empty but no one was setting up anything.

In 77 or 78, I watched the drag boats from the rocks of marine stadium.

Launched several boats in the late 80s at Christmas time to tour the Christmas lights. Great times.

So we never got the answer why parking lot has been closed for 2 days, my chick thinks its the home owners pulling a quick one, I think its the city and the machine don't work so they force you over to Davies, probably neither but either way it blows.

I wish Long Beach would shut down the launch ramp next to the Maya for the Catalina ski race.

Having the public in that lot Friday, Saturday (and Sunday if needed) is a real pain in the ass with all the race boats. Not enough parking, the locals move your cones and park in your spot, you’re competing with the locals for the ramp, boat wash, etc.

It’s not like they can’t go to 2nd Street for a couple days or other ramps.
