Who can help with some boat graphics?
I have a pretty good idea of what I want, but need it polished up. Maybe ideas or tweaks ?

Looks good. Lots of red. Maybe have a fade / transition of color? I started with a very bright yellow and transitioned back to a deep red with some nice orange in between. Added some dark grey drop shadows and it really pops! We went through quite a bit of tracing paper and colored pencils :)

Looks good and I agree with A1. Throw a different random color in to make it pop.

Closed bow or open? What's the top going to look like? Lines go across transom or solid color?

Its a deck boat. Undecided on transom. I do want the color to come up and over sponsons.

I thought maybe bright orange pins and darker shade of silver/gray to make it pop. Its a re gel so I dont want to get too crazy

Looks like a Howard. If so, work with Mike as he will do whatever you want. The only change I would suggest, without being able to tell on the rendering, is add the color you are seeking in the pin lines.

It is a Howard, its a re gel, not a new build so I dont really want to bother Mike with it. I was hoping to find someone with more graphic ability than myself to help dial it in.

You should consider doing a wrap. It's cheaper and can be changed if you get tired of the colors or design.

Here is a close up of the stern & a view of the bow. The yellow is really bright. :)

Grey pins, not black.

And I kept the red solid, but for the blue & grey "swoosh", Advantage faded away the color. The grey swoosh is lighter in the center and gets darker along the edges. They did an awesome job.

That's a really nice graphic. It may be just the computer rendering, but I would soften the transition where the bottom red starts rising as it goes to the back of the boat, and lengthen the very bottom red, and bring it just slightly farther forward. The rest of it looks awesome.

Congratulations on buying a new Howard, perfect choice. And to help you out I definitely think too much red. If it was me I would get rid of the bottom red line that goes from the front to the back. I would also add some dark grey with the silver and red. Hope this helps because once it's done it's done lol.

Will the boat be capped? You might want to consider how the two half's come together. :hmm

I've always liked a little checker boarding in some of the stripes. :cool

Don't let Grads scare you off with his drawing skills. He has had little taste in gel coat design, as seen here. :D

My advice is: decide on the colors you want and, kinda the design you like give a basic idea to Mike. spend a couple weeks with the crayolas, and make up some stupid theme like (subtly aggressive, that's mine) Then modify it a few times and think of you old boat's then just go for it. :D I designed two boats my redo of a old Eliminator (wish I didn't use the dark metallic purple) and my new Howard. my DCB was purchased used and was perfect for me. oh yea I like Advantage1's boat and his advise

Oh yea if you can make Mike snicker and stay sane with coming up with your design you win.

It seems as if the style of graphic the OP showed us is a trending graphic style right now. My concern would be that in 10 years when someone sees the boat get are going to know exactly when it was built. Kinda like we all know the real and pink was early 90's, the checkers where mid/late 90's, the oranges and green were early 2000's etc. I would say the colors are spot on, red/silver/white are always timeless. Think hallett/schiada, not crazy graphics but simple and a boat from 1992 can be sitting along side a boat from 2012 and nobody would know the difference

I couldn't afford a boat with fancy graphics like tribal flames or dragons. :D I like simplicity!

Simple and classy. Sell some cows! Cattle prices down here are still high as pussy on a ferris wheel! Then you could get Grads to design some graphics for ya!!

Just a thought, try switching the red and the grey, swap them. Might clean it up around the nose of it

I read the first page here and skimmed a few of the second.

Sorry,I don't monkey with computer graphic programs.
If I were to change anything on this drawing you have (and I'm looking at it on a dumpy cell phone) I would lose what looks like a red outline around the gray.Go black or charcoal around it.
Second,I would lose the little red triangle looking shape at the back/bottom.Extend the gray under the red, letting more of the gray be seen as it pops out under the red stripe on its way off the bottom of the boat.
If that makes any sense?
Maybe try to lay down the gray as it moves towards the front, more horizontal. It will make the boat look longer.

Here's where we are at with our graphics.
Trying to decide which one, as it is just about time to spray. We are leaning towards the top pic.

They both look great and are much better than the original rendering.

I think I agree with you on the top one being my favorite but I also like a little white thrown in on the bottom.

Hard to go wrong with either imo [emoji41]
