Been looking at exotic and sports cars for a new hobby. Putting the off-road thing on hold for a bit.

The usual bright blue, red, orange, etc are around.

That said, I’ve noticed that dark green and brown sell almost instantly on the secondary market. Also seeing cars wrapped with these less flashy colors.

Might be unique to sports cars, but wonder if it’ll bleed into boats.

Most of the cars I’m thinking of are being bought by 30s and 40s millennials with money for a high end car (Porsche, McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc)

Just as long as flames and tribal don't make a comeback, almost any color or palette can work if done tastefully.

I've seen some nice boats I would never have picked those colors for but it worked.

I agree on the tribal stuff.
Now classic flames, have been around forever.

It has been for a while now.

Lambo Blue, very popular color the last few years.
What I find hilarious is today’s Lambo Blue is yesterday’s Petty Racing Blue😂
But try selling that! No of these new millennials know who he was.
Tell it’s Lambo Blue and they cream their jeans.

There’s an Orange pearl color going on the next boat I shoot to match another Lambo color.

Did a 255 for a guy last year or the year before we had to try and match a metallic blue from a Bentley.

There’s a really nice metallic red on some Mazda some guy wanted us to match.
What some people just don’t understand or want to accept is some of these colors are multi stage paint.

We don’t use paint. It’s polyester gelcoat.
And we just can’t match that.
Want it? Have to have it?
Fine, we give you an all white or black boat and go get it painted. The paint is only a thousand dollars a pint👍Shouldn’t cost you more than $60-70K to get it done😂

Or compromise a little knowing it won’t be an Exact! match and see what we can come up with.
Good luck trying to get it touched up 4 years from now vs saying it’s Duratech gelcoat part number xyz 😉😉

This was last weeks custom color.

Damn that looks nice. I’m still a fan of the electric blue you shoot at Eliminator, not sure if it’s a stock color or you mix to get it.

I think they will follow the trends of new cars, pastels seem to be popular for the automotive industry right now....

In the 1970’s, they use a lot of wood grain laminate on Custom boats.

The new wood grain laminates look so much better than they did in the past. Almost 3D in appearance. I’d like to see someone experiment with that material on New Build. 😉

Im sure you have done alot of boats. what are some of the ones that really stand out that your proud of. Lets see your work.
This Fundeck stands out.
Customer wanted something Lowrider like.

It stands out in my mind because the colors looked so deep. And in a time where they all sort of looked the same with slight differences, this was totally unique.

And Bob really liked it for the same reasons👍

Believe me, I’ve been singing that song since before Jake owned the big E!
We did a Fundeck with a fairly typical pattern and some wood in there.
Apparently most folks don’t have the same unique tastes😂

I’ve seen a few boats done in cement gray with minimal accents that don’t look bad. Very understated and somewhat classy.

I have seen several ones in different shades of Grey with a bit of Black and white that are Classy and, in my opinion, won't go out of style.

I’d run that Mohave any day.👍
My River neighbor just bought a sleek that looks dam similar. Block was Cracked and I think he wants to sell it cheap. Youngster that was sold on it being turn key. Ended up a milkshake 350.
