John Maxedone, who was on parole because of a previous conviction for vehicle theft, was taken into custody, he said.
The boat had not been reported stolen, but authorities believe it had been taken from Long Beach earlier that day.
Records show Maxedone is currently in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail
The companionway lock was pried open. This type of boat dosen't have a key ignition.
The best part was the guy was to drunk to turn the wheel and he kept slamming the boat against the shore trying to get free. He was doing a half circle running the bow up then slamming into reverse, half circle, and running the stern against the beach. After awhile he was hitting it to the wood with no prop wash. Think he may have lost a prop or two. The funny thing is the engines were still purring, sounding really nice. What a nice boat, to bad for the owner
