It might be that mine are worn a bit simply from vibration. With bimini down they've popped out a few times this season in rougher water...this past weekend included. Luckily someone has been there to grab it each time.
I kinda like the function of the other ones posted so I might switch over.
Anyone know the standard size of the top tubing?
Tube size I need because I'm going to make rear struts instead of straps. Both long and short ones.Btw. I have them too. And they are through bolted. I haven't used my bimini in two years because it popped out on me. I need to take my entire interior out to swap them over. [emoji107]🏽

I even have them waiting. The tube size doesn't matter. The ends will fit on the ends you already have.
Thanks Cop'er[emoji6] [emoji4]
They're Dana products. Makes sense, I had Dana scissor lifts put on my hatch.

Maybe there's just debries in them and that's why they're not seating properly. Try soaking them in WD-40 or some oil for a few hours.
As far as the Dana ones go this is most likely your problem Ziggy.. Get in their with a tooth brush and clean them out and they will probably work fine again. You aren't the first guy this has happened too..
I prefer the quick releases that Paul posted. That's what we put on our boat.

I'm gonna take them apart and clean them up nicely and see what happens. I do like the others ones posted better as well.
I'm guessing most stainless bimini top tubing is 3/4". Can you put a caliper to yours and see?
Also get these for the rear supports
Stainless Bimini Tubing typically 7/8" or 1" OD with .049" wall thickness.

This one is better, it uses a 1/4" pin instead of a machine screw
